“As for you, son of man, take one branch, and write on it, ‘For Judah, and for the Israelites associated with him.’ Then take another branch and write on it, ‘For Joseph, the branch of Ephraim and all the house of Israel associated with him.’

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;&#8216;I will make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; I will not let my holy name be profaned anymore. Then the nations will know that I am the <sc>Lordsc>, the Holy One of Israel.<n id="1" />

It will be the duty of the prince to provide the burnt offerings, the grain offering, and the drink offering at festivals, on the new moons and Sabbaths, at all the appointed feasts of the house of Israel; he will provide the sin offering, the grain offering, the burnt offering, and the peace offerings to make atonement for the house of Israel.p>

You must allot it as an inheritance among yourselves and for the foreigners who reside among you, who have fathered sons among you. You must treat them as native-born among the people of Israel; they will be allotted an inheritance with you among the tribes of Israel.<n id="1" />

<p class="bodytext">He said to me, &#8220;Son of man, eat what you see in front of you<n id="1" /> &#8211; eat this scroll &#8211; and then go and speak to the house of Israel.&#8221;

For you are not being sent to a people of unintelligible speech<n id="1" /> and difficult language,<n id="2" /> but<n id="3" /> to the house of Israel &#8211;

I have determined that the number of the years of their iniquity are to be the number of days<n id="1" /> for you &#8211; 390 days.<n id="2" /> So bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.<n id="3" />p>

And the <sc>Lordsc> said, &#8220;This is how the people of Israel will eat their unclean food among the nations<n id="1" /> where I will banish them.&#8221;p>

Again, take more of them and throw them into the fire,<n id="1" /> and burn them up. From there a fire will spread to all the house of Israel.p>

&#8220;You, son of man &#8211; this is what the sovereign <sc>Lordsc> says to the land of Israel: An end! The end is coming on the four corners of the land!<n id="1" />

So I went in and looked. I noticed every figure<n id="1" /> of creeping thing and beast &#8211; detestable images<n id="2" /> &#8211; and every idol of the house of Israel, engraved on the wall all around.<n id="3" />

<p class="bodytext">These were the living creatures<n id="1" /> which I saw at the Kebar River underneath the God of Israel; I knew that they were cherubim.

<p class="bodytext">Then the Spirit of the <sc>Lordsc> came<n id="1" /> upon me and said to me, &#8220;Say: This is what the <sc>Lordsc> says: &#8216;This is what you are thinking,<n id="2" /> O house of Israel; I know what goes through your minds.<n id="3" />

This city will not be a cooking pot for you, and you will not<n id="1" /> be meat within it; I will judge you at the border of Israel.

While they are watching, raise your baggage onto your shoulder and carry it out in the dark.<n id="1" /> You must cover your face so that you cannot see the ground<n id="2" /> because I have made you an object lesson<n id="3" /> to the house of Israel.&#8221;p>

Say to them, &#8216;This is what the sovereign <sc>Lordsc> says: The prince will raise this burden in Jerusalem,<n id="1" /> and all the house of Israel within it.&#8217;<n id="2" />

&#8220;Son of man, what is this proverb you have in the land of Israel, &#8216;The days pass slowly, and every vision fails&#8217;?

&#8220;Take note, son of man, the house of Israel is saying, &#8216;The vision that he sees is for distant days; he is prophesying about the far future.&#8217;

&#8220;Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who are now prophesying. Say to the prophets who prophesy from their imagination:<n id="1" /> &#8216;Hear the word of the <sc>Lordsc>!

those prophets of Israel who would prophesy about Jerusalem<n id="1" /> and would see visions of peace for it, when there was no peace,&#8221; declares the sovereign <sc>Lordsc>.&#8217;p>
