And they stood before Moses and Eleazar the priest and the leaders of the whole assembly at the entrance to the tent of meeting and said,

<p class="bodytext">So Moses did as the <sc>Lordsc> commanded him; he took Joshua and set<n id="1" /> him before Eleazar the priest and before the whole community.

<t /><p class="bodytext">So Moses sent them to the war, one thousand from every tribe, with Phinehas son of Eleazar the priest, who was in charge<n id="1" /> of the holy articles<n id="2" /> and the signal trumpets.

<p class="bodytext">Then Eleazar the priest said to the men of war who had gone into the battle, &#8220;This is the ordinance of the law that the <sc>Lordsc> commanded Moses:

&#8220;You and Eleazar the priest, and all the family leaders of the community, take the sum<n id="1" /> of the plunder that was captured, both people and animals.

<p class="bodytext">So Moses gave the tribute, which was the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s raised offering, to Eleazar the priest, as the <sc>Lordsc> commanded Moses.p>

the Gadites and the Reubenites came and addressed Moses, Eleazar the priest, and the leaders of the community. They said,

<p class="bodytext">So Moses gave orders about them to Eleazar the priest, to Joshua son of Nun, and to the heads of the families of the Israelite tribes.

&#8220;These are the names of the men who are to allocate the land to you as an inheritance:<n id="1" /> Eleazar the priest and Joshua son of Nun.

And you must not accept a ransom for anyone who has fled to a town of refuge, to allow him to return home and live on his own land before the death of the high priest.<n id="1" />p>

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;The appointed responsibility of Eleazar son of Aaron the priest is for the oil for the light, and the spiced incense, and the daily grain offering, and the anointing oil; he also has<n id="1" /> the appointed responsibility over all the tabernacle with<n id="2" /> all that is in it, over the sanctuary and over all its furnishings.&#8221;<n id="3" />p>

then<n id="1" /> the man must bring his wife to the priest, and he must bring the offering required for her, one tenth of an ephah of barley meal; he must not pour olive oil on it or put frankincense on it, because it is a grain offering of suspicion,<n id="2" /> a grain offering for remembering,<n id="3" /> for bringing<n id="4" /> iniquity to remembrance.p>

Then the priest will put the woman under oath and say to the her, &#8220;If no other<n id="1" /> man has had sexual relations with you, and if you have not gone astray and become defiled while under your husband&#8217;s authority, may you be free from this bitter water that brings a curse.<n id="2" />

or when jealous feelings come over a man and he becomes suspicious of his wife; then he must have the woman stand before the <sc>Lordsc>, and the priest will carry out all this law upon her.

And the priest must take the boiled shoulder of the ram, one cake made without yeast from the basket, and one wafer made without yeast, and put them on the hands of the Nazirite after he has shaved his consecrated head;<n id="1" />

And the priest is to make atonement<n id="1" /> for the whole community of the Israelites, and they will be forgiven,<n id="2" /> because it was unintentional and they have brought their offering, an offering made by fire to the <sc>Lordsc>, and their purification offering before the <sc>Lordsc>, for their unintentional offense.

Thus you are to offer up a raised offering to the <sc>Lordsc> of all your tithes which you receive from the Israelites; and you must give the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s raised offering from it to Aaron the priest.

&#8220;Phinehas son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned my anger away from the Israelites, when he manifested such zeal<n id="1" /> for my sake among them, so that I did not consume the Israelites in my zeal.<n id="2" />

And he will stand before Eleazar the priest, who<n id="1" /> will seek counsel<n id="2" /> for him before the <sc>Lordsc> by the decision of the Urim.<n id="3" /> At his command<n id="4" /> they will go out, and at his command they will come in, he and all the Israelites with him, the whole community.&#8221;p>

They brought the captives and the spoils and the plunder to Moses, to Eleazar the priest, and to the Israelite community, to the camp on the plains<n id="1" /> of Moab, along the Jordan River<n id="2" /> across from Jericho.<n id="3" />
