They had not gone very far from the city<n id="1" /> when Joseph said<n id="2" /> to the servant who was over his household, &#8220;Pursue the men at once!<n id="3" /> When you overtake<n id="4" /> them, say to them, &#8216;Why have you repaid good with evil?

When the money from the lands of Egypt and Canaan was used up, all the Egyptians<n id="1" /> came to Joseph and said, &#8220;Give us food! Why should we die<n id="2" /> before your very eyes because our money has run out?&#8221;p>

Why should we die before your very eyes, both we and our land? Buy us and our land in exchange for food, and we, with our land, will become<n id="1" /> Pharaoh&#8217;s slaves.<n id="2" /> Give us seed that we may live<n id="3" /> and not die. Then the land will not become desolate.&#8221;<n id="4" />p>
