So Delilah took new ropes and tied him with them and said to him, &#8220;The Philistines are here,<n id="1" /> Samson!&#8221; (The Philistines were hiding in the bedroom.)<n id="2" /> But he tore the ropes<n id="3" /> from his arms as if they were a piece of thread.p>

The Philistines captured him and gouged out his eyes. They brought him down to Gaza and bound him in bronze chains. He became a grinder in the prison.

<p class="bodytext">So the men did as instructed.<n id="1" /> They took two cows that had calves and harnessed them to a cart; they also removed their calves to their stalls.

<p class="poetry">Your hands<n id="1" /> were not bound,p> <p class="poetry">and your feet were not put into irons.p> <p class="poetry">You fell the way one falls before criminals.&#8221;p> <p class="bodytext">All the people<n id="2" /> wept over him again.

He had Zedekiah&#8217;s eyes put out and had him bound in chains.<n id="1" /> Then the king of Babylon had him led off to Babylon and he was imprisoned there until the day he died.p>

Both of them, the cupbearer and the baker of the king of Egypt, who were confined in the prison, had a dream<n id="1" /> the same night.<n id="2" /> Each man&#8217;s dream had its own meaning.<n id="3" />

One of you must go and get<n id="1" /> your brother, while<n id="2" /> the rest of you remain in prison.<n id="3" /> In this way your words may be tested to see if<n id="4" /> you are telling the truth.<n id="5" /> If not, then, as surely as Pharaoh lives, you are spies!&#8221;

If a man<n id="1" /> makes a vow<n id="2" /> to the <sc>Lordsc> or takes an oath<n id="3" /> of binding obligation on himself,<n id="4" /> he must not break his word, but must do whatever he has promised.<n id="5" />p>

But if her father overrules her when he hears<n id="1" /> about it, then none<n id="2" /> of her vows or her obligations which she has pledged for herself will stand. And the <sc>Lordsc> will release<n id="3" /> her from it, because her father overruled her.p>

But if when her husband hears it he overrules her, then he will nullify<n id="1" /> the vow she has taken,<n id="2" /> and whatever she uttered impulsively which she has pledged for herself. And the <sc>Lordsc> will release her from it.p>

The rulers of the Philistines went up to visit her and said to her, &#8220;Trick him! Find out what makes him so strong and how we can subdue him and humiliate<n id="1" /> him. Each one of us will give you eleven hundred silver pieces.&#8221;p>

<p class="bodytext">Delilah said to Samson, &#8220;Up to now you have deceived me and told me lies. Tell me how you can be subdued.&#8221; He said to her, &#8220;If you weave the seven braids of my hair<n id="1" /> into the fabric on the loom<n id="2" /> and secure it with the pin, I will become weak and be like any other man.&#8221;

So now go and make a new cart. Get two cows that have calves and that have never had a yoke placed on them. Harness the cows to the cart and take their calves from them back to their stalls.

The seventh time the servant<n id="1" /> said, &#8220;Look, a small cloud, the size of the palm of a man&#8217;s hand, is rising up from the sea.&#8221; Elijah<n id="2" /> then said, &#8220;Go and tell Ahab, &#8216;Hitch up the chariots and go down, so that the rain won&#8217;t overtake you.&#8217;&#8221;<n id="3" />

The king of Assyria discovered that Hoshea was planning a revolt.<n id="1" /> Hoshea had sent messengers to King So<n id="2" /> of Egypt and had not sent his annual tribute to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria arrested him and imprisoned him.<n id="3" />

Abijah launched the attack with 400,000 well-trained warriors,<n id="1" /> while Jeroboam deployed against him 800,000 well-trained warriors.<n id="2" />p>
