<p class="bodytext">&#8220;The priest who is anointed and ordained to act as high priest in place of his father<n id="1" /> is to make atonement. He is to put on the linen garments, the holy garments,

and he is to purify<n id="1" /> the Most Holy Place,<n id="2" /> he is to purify the Meeting Tent and the altar,<n id="3" /> and he is to make atonement for<n id="4" /> the priests and for all the people of the assembly.

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;&#8216;They must be holy to their God, and they must not profane<n id="1" /> the name of their God, because they are the ones who present the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s gifts,<n id="2" /> the food of their God. Therefore they must be holy.<n id="3" />

the person who touches any of these<n id="1" /> will be unclean until evening and must not eat from the holy offerings unless he has bathed his body in water.

&#8220;Speak to the Israelites and tell them, &#8216;These are the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s appointed times which you must proclaim as holy assemblies &#8211; my appointed times:<n id="1" />p>

You must present a gift to the <sc>Lordsc> for seven days, and the seventh day is a holy assembly; you must not do any regular work.&#8217;&#8221;p>

and the priest is to wave them &#8211; the two lambs<n id="1" /> &#8211; along with the bread of the first fruits, as a wave offering before the <sc>Lordsc>; they will be holy to the <sc>Lordsc> for the priest.p>

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;&#8216;On this very day you must proclaim an assembly; it is to be a holy assembly for you.<n id="1" /> You must not do any regular work. This is a perpetual statute in all the places where you live throughout your generations.<n id="2" />

&#8220;Tell the Israelites, &#8216;In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you must have a complete rest, a memorial announced by loud horn blasts,<n id="1" /> a holy assembly.

&#8220;The<n id="1" /> tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement.<n id="2" /> It is to be a holy assembly for you, and you must humble yourselves<n id="3" /> and present a gift to the <sc>Lordsc>.

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;&#8216;These are the appointed times of the <sc>Lordsc> that you must proclaim as holy assemblies to present a gift to the <sc>Lordsc> &#8211; burnt offering, grain offering, sacrifice, and drink offerings,<n id="1" /> each day according to its regulation,<n id="2" />

the conversion value of the male<n id="1" /> from twenty years old up to sixty years old<n id="2" /> is fifty shekels by the standard of the sanctuary shekel.<n id="3" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;&#8216;If what is vowed is a kind of animal from which an offering may be presented<n id="1" /> to the <sc>Lordsc>, anything which he gives to the <sc>Lordsc> from this kind of animal<n id="2" /> will be holy.

the priest will calculate for him the amount of its conversion value until the jubilee year, and he must pay<n id="1" /> the conversion value on that jubilee day as something that is holy to the <sc>Lordsc>.

All the tithe of herd or flock, everything which passes under the rod, the tenth one will be holy to the <sc>Lordsc>.<n id="1" />

The owner<n id="1" /> must not examine the animals to distinguish between good and bad, and he must not exchange it. If, however, he does exchange it,<n id="2" /> both the original animal<n id="3" /> and its substitute will be holy.<n id="4" /> It must not be redeemed.&#8217;&#8221;p>

And whatever holy thing he violated<n id="1" /> he must restore and must add one fifth to it and give it to the priest. So the priest will make atonement<n id="2" /> on his behalf with the guilt offering ram and he will be forgiven.&#8221;<n id="3" />p>

Finally, he set the turban<n id="1" /> on his head and attached the gold plate, the holy diadem,<n id="2" /> to the front of the turban just as the <sc>Lordsc> had commanded Moses.p>

Moses then called to Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel, Aaron&#8217;s uncle, and said to them, &#8220;Come near, carry your brothers away from the front of the sanctuary to a place outside the camp.&#8221;

Then she will remain<n id="1" /> thirty-three days in blood purity.<n id="2" /> She must not touch anything holy and she must not enter the sanctuary until the days of her purification are fulfilled.<n id="3" />
