There is nothing better for me than to escape to the land of the Philistines. Then Saul will despair of searching for me through all the territory of Israel and I will escape from his hand.&#8221;p>

<p class="bodytext">But the woman said to him, &#8220;Look, you are aware of what Saul has done; he has removed<n id="1" /> the mediums and magicians<n id="2" /> from the land! Why are you trapping me<n id="3" /> so you can put me to death?&#8221;

He said to her, &#8220;What about his appearance?&#8221; She said, &#8220;An old man is coming up! He is wrapped in a robe!&#8221;p> <p class="bodytext">Then Saul realized it was Samuel, and he bowed his face toward the ground and kneeled down.

<p class="bodytext">Saul quickly fell full length on the ground and was very afraid because of Samuel&#8217;s words. He was completely drained of energy,<n id="1" /> not having eaten anything<n id="2" /> all that day and night.

<p class="bodytext">But the army said to Saul, &#8220;Should Jonathan, who won this great victory in Israel, die? May it never be! As surely as the <sc>Lordsc> lives, not a single hair of his head will fall to the ground! For it is with the help of God that he has acted today.&#8221; So the army rescued Jonathan from death.<n id="1" />p>
