The village women said to Naomi, &#8220;May the <sc>Lordsc> be praised because he has not left you without a guardian<n id="1" /> today! May he<n id="2" /> become famous in Israel!<n id="3" />

When Samuel came to him,<n id="1" /> Saul said to him, &#8220;May the <sc>Lordsc> bless you! I have done what the <sc>Lordsc> said.&#8221;p>

and said<n id="1" /> this: &#8216;The <sc>Lordsc> God of Israel is worthy of praise because<n id="2" /> today he has placed a successor on my throne and allowed me to see it.&#8217;&#8221;<n id="3" />p>

He said, &#8220;The <sc>Lordsc> God of Israel is worthy of praise because he has fulfilled<n id="1" /> what he promised<n id="2" /> my father David.

<p class="poetry">May the <sc>Lordsc> God of Israel be praised,p> <p class="poetry">in the future and forevermore.<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">Then all the people said, &#8220;We agree!<n id="2" /> Praise the <sc>Lordsc>!&#8221;p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">David praised the <sc>Lordsc> before the entire assembly:<n id="1" />p> <p class="bodytext">&#8220;O <sc>Lordsc> God of our father Israel, you deserve praise forevermore!

He said, &#8220;The <sc>Lordsc> God of Israel is worthy of praise because he has fulfilled<n id="1" /> what he promised<n id="2" /> my father David.

<n id="1" /><p class="bodytext">Blessed be the <sc>Lordsc> God of our fathers, who so moved in the heart of the king to so honor the temple of the <sc>Lordsc> which is in Jerusalem!

After him Baruch son of Zabbai worked on another section, from the buttress to the door of the house of Eliashib the high priest.

and Maaseiah son of Baruch, the son of Col-Hozeh, the son of Hazaiah, the son of Adaiah, the son of Joiarib, the son of Zechariah, from the descendants of Shelah.<n id="1" />

<p class="poetry">You are awe-inspiring, O God, as you emerge from your holy temple!<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">It is the God of Israel<n id="2" /> who gives the people power and strength.p> <p class="poetry">God deserves praise!<n id="3" />p>

<p class="poetry">The <sc>Lordsc> God of Israel deserves praise,<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">in the future and forevermore.<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">Let all the people say, &#8220;We agree!<n id="3" /> Praise the <sc>Lordsc>!&#8221;<n id="4" />p>

The <sc>Lordsc> who commands armies will pronounce a blessing over the earth, saying,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Blessed be my people, Egypt, and the work of my hands, Assyria, and my special possession,<n id="2" /> Israel!&#8221;p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;After I had given the copies of the deed of purchase to Baruch son of Neriah, I prayed to the <sc>Lordsc>,

<p class="bodytext">So Baruch son of Neriah did exactly what the prophet Jeremiah had told him to do. He read what the <sc>Lordsc> had said from the scroll in the temple of the <sc>Lordsc>.<n id="1" />

Micaiah told them everything he had heard Baruch read from the scroll in the hearing of the people.<n id="1" />

Then they asked Baruch, &#8220;How did you come to write all these words? Do they actually come from Jeremiah&#8217;s mouth?&#8221;<n id="1" />

Baruch answered, &#8220;Yes, they came from his own mouth. He dictated all these words to me and I wrote them down in ink on this scroll.&#8221;<n id="1" />

Then the officials said to Baruch, &#8220;You and Jeremiah must go and hide. You must not let anyone know where you are.&#8221;<n id="1" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">The <sc>Lordsc> spoke to Jeremiah after Jehoiakim had burned the scroll containing what Jeremiah had spoken and Baruch had written down.<n id="1" />
