<p class="poetry">There is no other God like you!<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">You<n id="2" /> forgive sinp> <p class="poetry">and pardon<n id="3" /> the rebellionp> <p class="poetry">of those who remain among your people.<n id="4" />p> <p class="poetry">You do not remain angry forever,<n id="5" />p> <p class="poetry">but delight in showing loyal love.p>

<p class="poetry">No one can withstand<n id="1" /> his indignation!<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">No one can resist<n id="3" /> his fierce anger!<n id="4" />p> <p class="poetry">His wrath is poured out like volcanic fire,p> <p class="poetry">boulders are broken up<n id="5" /> as he approaches.<n id="6" />p>

He said to them, &#8220;This is what the <sc>Lordsc> has said: &#8216;Tomorrow is a time of cessation from work,<n id="1" /> a holy Sabbath<n id="2" /> to the <sc>Lordsc>. Whatever you want to<n id="3" /> bake, bake today;<n id="4" /> whatever you want to boil, boil today; whatever is left put aside for yourselves to be kept until morning.&#8217;&#8221;p>

You must not take for yourself anything that has been placed under judgment.<n id="1" /> Then the <sc>Lordsc> will relent from his intense anger, show you compassion, have mercy on you, and multiply you as he promised your ancestors.

Then they erected over him a large pile of stones (it remains to this very day<n id="1" />) and the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s anger subsided. So that place is called the Valley of Disaster to this very day.p>

<p class="bodytext">The <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s spirit empowered him. He went down to Ashkelon and murdered thirty men. He took their clothes<n id="1" /> and gave them<n id="2" /> to the men who had solved the riddle. He was furious as he went back home.<n id="3" />

Since you did not obey the <sc>Lordsc><n id="1" /> and did not carry out his fierce anger against the Amalekites, the <sc>Lordsc> has done this thing to you today.

Now, don&#8217;t be stubborn<n id="1" /> like your fathers! Submit<n id="2" /> to the <sc>Lordsc> and come to his sanctuary which he has permanently consecrated. Serve the <sc>Lordsc> your God so that he might relent from his raging anger.<n id="3" />

<p class="poetry">So the <sc>Lordsc> is furious<n id="1" /> with his people;p> <p class="poetry">he lifts<n id="2" /> his hand and strikes them.p> <p class="poetry">The mountains shake,p> <p class="poetry">and corpses lie like manure<n id="3" /> in the middle of the streets.p> <p class="poetry">Despite all this, his anger does not subside,p> <p class="poetry">and his hand is ready to strike again.<n id="4" />p>

<p class="poetry">So the sovereign master was not pleased<n id="1" /> with their young men,p> <p class="poetry">he took no pity<n id="2" /> on their orphans and widows;p> <p class="poetry">for the whole nation was godless<n id="3" /> and did wicked things,<n id="4" />p> <p class="poetry">every mouth was speaking disgraceful words.<n id="5" />p> <p class="poetry">Despite all this, his anger does not subside,p> <p class="poetry">and his hand is ready to strike again.<n id="6" />p>

<p class="poetry">Manasseh fought against<n id="1" /> Ephraim,p> <p class="poetry">and Ephraim against Manasseh;p> <p class="poetry">together they fought against Judah.p> <p class="poetry">Despite all this, his anger does not subside,p> <p class="poetry">and his hand is ready to strike again.<n id="2" />p>
