Are you so foolish? Although you began ¹  with ²  the Spirit, are you now trying to finish ³  by human effort? ⁴ 

Just as Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness, ¹ 

So also we, when we were minors, ¹  were enslaved under the basic forces ²  of the world.

But I say, live ¹  by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh. ² 

See what big letters I make as I write to you with my own hand!

Thus the law had become our guardian ¹  until Christ, so that we could be declared righteous ²  by faith.

I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one ¹  who called you by the grace of Christ ²  and are following ³  a different ⁴  gospel –

Now it is clear no one is justified before God by the law, because the righteous one will live by faith. ¹ 

and all the brothers with me, to the churches of Galatia.

idolatry, sorcery, ¹  hostilities, ²  strife, ³  jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish rivalries, dissensions, ⁴  factions,

who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from this present evil age according to the will of our God and Father,

However, it is good ¹  to be sought eagerly ²  for a good purpose ³  at all times, and not only when I am present with you.

For freedom ¹  Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not be subject again to the yoke ²  of slavery.

I assure you ¹  that, before God, I am not lying about what I am writing to you! ² 

So then those who believe ¹  are blessed along with Abraham the believer.

For ¹  neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for ²  anything; the only thing that matters is a new creation! ³ 

Brothers and sisters, ¹  I offer an example from everyday life: ²  When a covenant ³  has been ratified, ⁴  even though it is only a human contract, no one can set it aside or add anything to it.

and though my physical condition put you to the test, you did not despise or reject me. ¹  Instead, you welcomed me as though I were an angel of God, ²  as though I were Christ Jesus himself! ³ 

For it is written: “Rejoice, O barren woman who does not bear children; ¹  break forth and shout, you who have no birth pains, because the children of the desolate woman are more numerous than those of the woman who has a husband.” ² 

I do not set aside ¹  God’s grace, because if righteousness ²  could come through the law, then Christ died for nothing! ³
