They will besiege all of your villages ¹  until all of your high and fortified walls collapse – those in which you put your confidence throughout the land. They will besiege all your villages throughout the land the Lord your God has given you.

When the Lord your God eliminates the nations from the place where you are headed and you dispossess them, you will settle down in their land. ¹ 

If the Lord your God enlarges your borders as he promised your ancestors ¹  and gives you all the land he pledged to them, ² 

I declare to you this very day that you will certainly ¹  perish! You will not extend your time in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess. ² 

The Lord will make the rain of your land powder and dust; it will come down on you from the sky until you are destroyed.

Commission ¹  Joshua, and encourage and strengthen him, because he will lead these people over and will enable them to inherit the land you will see.”

to dispossess nations greater and stronger than you and brought you here this day to give you their land as your property. ¹ 

be sure ¹  you do not feel self-important and forget the Lord your God who brought you from the land of Egypt, the place of slavery,

a land the Lord your God looks after. ¹  He is constantly attentive to it ²  from the beginning to the end of the year. ³ 

For you are about to cross the Jordan to possess the land the Lord your God is giving you, and you will possess and inhabit it.

When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, you must not learn the abhorrent practices of those nations.

When the Lord your God destroys the nations whose land he ¹  is about to give you and you dispossess them and settle in their cities and houses,

You must not shed innocent blood ¹  in your land that the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, for that would make you guilty. ² 

When ¹  you enter the land that the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, and you occupy it and live in it,

When you cross the Jordan River ¹  to the land the Lord your God is giving you, you must erect great stones and cover ²  them with plaster.

The Lord will do to them just what he did to Sihon and Og, the Amorite kings, and to their land, which he destroyed.

Of Joseph he said: May the Lord bless his land with the harvest produced by the sky, ¹  by the dew, and by the depths crouching beneath;

“Let me pass through your land; I will keep strictly to the roadway. ¹  I will not turn aside to the right or the left.

So at that time we took the land of the two Amorite kings in the Transjordan from Wadi Arnon to Mount Hermon ¹ 

Remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt and the Lord your God redeemed you; therefore, I am commanding you to do this thing today.
