“‘On the third day you must offer ¹  eleven bulls, two rams, fourteen lambs one year old, all without blemish,

“‘On the fourth day you must offer ten bulls, two rams, and fourteen lambs one year old, all without blemish,

“‘On the fifth day you must offer nine bulls, two rams, and fourteen lambs one year old, all without blemish,

“‘On the sixth day you must offer eight bulls, two rams, and fourteen lambs one year old, all without blemish,

“‘On the seventh day you must offer seven bulls, two rams, and fourteen lambs one year old, all without blemish,

“‘If anyone dies very suddenly ¹  beside him and he defiles ²  his consecrated head, ³  then he must shave his head on the day of his purification – on the seventh day he must shave it.

¹ Now these are the records ²  of Aaron and Moses when ³  the Lord spoke with Moses on Mount Sinai.

(Now the man Moses was very humble, ¹  more so than any man on the face of the earth.)

When the Israelites were ¹  in the wilderness they found a man gathering wood on the Sabbath day. ² 

He laid his hands on him and commissioned him, just as the Lord commanded, ¹  by the authority ²  of Moses.

“Exact vengeance ¹  for the Israelites on the Midianites ²  – after that you will be gathered to your people.” ³ 

“Speak to the Israelites and tell them to make ¹  tassels ²  for themselves on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and put a blue thread ³  on the tassel of the corners.

Now a wind ¹  went out ²  from the Lord and brought quail ³  from the sea, and let them fall ⁴  near the camp, about a day’s journey on this side, and about a day’s journey on the other side, all around the camp, and about three feet ⁵  high on the surface of the ground.

Then the angel of the Lord stood in a path ¹  among the vineyards, where there was a wall on either side. ² 

The one who presented his offering on the first day was Nahshon son of Amminadab, from the tribe of Judah. ¹ 

From there they moved on and camped on the other side of the Arnon, in the wilderness that extends from the regions ¹  of the Amorites, for Arnon is the border of Moab, between Moab and the Amorites.

Take Aaron and Eleazar his son, and bring them up on Mount Hor.

And the Lord came down in the cloud and spoke to them, and he took some of the Spirit that was on Moses ¹  and put it on the seventy elders. When the Spirit rested on them, ²  they prophesied, ³  but did not do so again. ⁴ 

So Balak did just as Balaam had said. Balak and Balaam then offered on each ¹  altar a bull and a ram.

You must wash your clothes on the seventh day, and you will be ceremonially clean, and afterward you may enter the camp.’”
