You must celebrate it as a pilgrim festival to the Lord for seven days in the year. This is a perpetual statute throughout your generations; ¹  you must celebrate it in the seventh month.

However, this you may eat from all the winged swarming things that walk on all fours, which have jointed legs ¹  to hop with on the land.

“‘Now this is what is unclean to you among the swarming things that swarm on the land: ¹  the rat, the mouse, the large lizard of any kind,

“Command Aaron and his sons, ‘This is the law of the burnt offering. The burnt offering is to remain on the hearth ¹  on the altar all night until morning, and the fire of the altar must be kept burning on it. ² 

I for my part ¹  will do this to you: I will inflict horror on you, consumption and fever, which diminish eyesight and drain away the vitality of life. ²  You will sow your seed in vain because ³  your enemies will eat it. ⁴ 

You must reside at the entrance of the Meeting Tent day and night for seven days and keep the charge of the Lord so that you will not die, for this is what I have been commanded.”

Outside the veil-canopy ¹  of the congregation in the Meeting Tent Aaron ²  must arrange it from evening until morning before the Lord continually. This is a perpetual statute throughout your generations. ³ 

He must do with the rest of the bull just as he did with the bull of the sin offering; this is what he must do with it. ¹  So the priest will make atonement ²  on their behalf and they will be forgiven. ³ 

The priest ¹  is to present it before the Lord and make atonement ²  on her behalf, and she will be clean ³  from her flow of blood. ⁴  This is the law of the one who bears a child, for the male or the female child.

The second bird ¹  he must make a burnt offering according to the standard regulation. ²  So the priest will make atonement ³  on behalf of this person for ⁴  his sin which he has committed, and he will be forgiven. ⁵ 

“This is the offering of Aaron and his sons which they must present to the Lord on the day when he is anointed: a tenth of an ephah ¹  of choice wheat flour ²  as a continual grain offering, half of it in the morning and half of it in the evening.

“This is to be a perpetual statute for you. ¹  In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you must humble yourselves ²  and do no work of any kind, ³  both the native citizen and the foreigner who resides ⁴  in your midst,

“‘If what is vowed is a kind of animal from which an offering may be presented ¹  to the Lord, anything which he gives to the Lord from this kind of animal ²  will be holy.

You must eat it in a holy place because it is your allotted portion ¹  and the allotted portion of your sons from the gifts ²  of the Lord, for this is what I have been commanded. ³ 

This is so that ¹  the Israelites will bring their sacrifices that they are sacrificing in the open field ²  to the Lord at the entrance of the Meeting Tent to the priest and sacrifice them there as peace offering sacrifices to the Lord.

In spite of this, however, when they are in the land of their enemies I will not reject them and abhor them to make a complete end of them, to break my covenant with them, for I am the Lord their God.

“‘If, in spite of all these things, ¹  you do not obey me, I will discipline you seven times more on account of your sins. ² 

Any male among the priests may eat it. It is most holy. ¹ 

Then he must bring it to the sons of Aaron, the priests, and the priest ¹  must scoop out from there a handful of its choice wheat flour and some of its olive oil in addition to all of its frankincense, and the priest must offer its memorial portion ²  up in smoke on the altar – it is ³  a gift of a soothing aroma to the Lord.

But Aaron spoke to Moses, “See here! ¹  Just today they presented their sin offering and their burnt offering before the Lord and such things as these have happened to me! If I had eaten a sin offering today would the Lord have been pleased?” ²
