Then Jesus said to him, “Go away, ¹  Satan! For it is written: ‘You are to worship the Lord your God and serve only him.’” ² 

Jesus said to her, “Believe me, woman, ¹  a time ²  is coming when you will worship ³  the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.

For we are the circumcision, ¹  the ones who worship by the Spirit of God, ²  exult in Christ Jesus, and do not rely on human credentials ³ 

You must never forget the agreement I made with you, and you must not worship other gods.

Their land is full of worthless idols; they worship ¹  the product of their own hands, what their own fingers have fashioned.

At that time ¹  men will throw their silver and gold idols, which they made for themselves to worship, ²  into the caves where rodents and bats live, ³ 

saying, “Where is the one who is born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose ¹  and have come to worship him.”

So ¹  I threw myself down ²  at his feet to worship him, but ³  he said, “Do not do this! ⁴  I am only ⁵  a fellow servant ⁶  with you and your brothers ⁷  who hold to the testimony about ⁸  Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony about Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

The people said to Joshua, “We will worship ¹  the Lord our God and obey him.” ² 

There you will worship gods made by human hands – wood and stone that can neither see, hear, eat, nor smell.

From one month ¹  to the next and from one Sabbath to the next, all people ²  will come to worship me,” ³  says the Lord.

But you took along the tabernacle ¹  of Moloch ²  and the star of the ³  god Rephan, ⁴  the images you made to worship, but I will deport ⁵  you beyond Babylon.’ ⁶ 

The people responded, “Far be it from us to abandon the Lord so we can ¹  worship ²  other gods!

But as for me, ¹  because of your great faithfulness I will enter your house; ²  I will bow down toward your holy temple as I worship you. ³ 

I will remove your idols and sacred pillars from your midst; you will no longer worship what your own hands made.

who are Israelites. To them belong ¹  the adoption as sons, ²  the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the temple worship, ³  and the promises.

So since we are receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us give thanks, and through this let us offer worship pleasing to God in devotion and awe.

But a time ¹  is coming – and now is here ²  – when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks ³  such people to be ⁴  his worshipers. ⁵ 

So he ¹  said to his servants, “You two stay ²  here with the donkey while ³  the boy and I go up there. We will worship ⁴  and then return to you.” ⁵ 

¹ But to Moses the Lord ²  said, “Come up ³  to the Lord, you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, and worship from a distance. ⁴
