<p class="bodytext">And this is the confidence that we have before him: that<n id="1" /> whenever<n id="2" /> we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house and do not give him any greeting,<n id="1" />

He<n id="1" /> seized the dragon &#8211; the ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan &#8211; and tied him up for a thousand years.

And I did not recognize him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water said to me, &#8216;The one on whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining &#8211; this is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.&#8217;

So do not let them persuade you to do this,<n id="1" /> because more than forty of them<n id="2" /> are lying in ambush<n id="3" /> for him. They<n id="4" /> have bound themselves with an oath<n id="5" /> not to eat or drink anything<n id="6" /> until they have killed him, and now they are ready, waiting for you to agree to their request.&#8221;<n id="7" />

The one who conquers<n id="1" /> I will make<n id="2" /> a pillar in the temple of my God, and he will never depart from it. I<n id="3" /> will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God (the new Jerusalem that comes down out of heaven from my God),<n id="4" /> and my new name as well.

After<n id="1" /> Jesus was baptized, just as he was coming up out of the water, the<n id="2" /> heavens<n id="3" /> opened<n id="4" /> and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove<n id="5" /> and coming on him.

If you then, although you are evil,<n id="1" /> know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts<n id="2" /> to those who ask him!

<t /><p class="bodytext">From that time on<n id="1" /> Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem<n id="2" /> and suffer<n id="3" /> many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests, and experts in the law,<n id="4" /> and be killed, and on the third day be raised.

And I tell you that Elijah has already come. Yet they did not recognize him, but did to him whatever they wanted. In<n id="1" /> the same way, the Son of Man will suffer at their hands.&#8221;

Jesus answered,<n id="1" /> &#8220;You<n id="2" /> unbelieving<n id="3" /> and perverse generation! How much longer<n id="4" /> must I be with you? How much longer must I endure<n id="5" /> you?<n id="6" /> Bring him here to me.&#8221;

And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye than to have<n id="1" /> two eyes and be thrown into fiery hell.<n id="2" />p>

After<n id="1" /> he went out, that same slave found one of his fellow slaves who owed him one hundred silver coins.<n id="2" /> So<n id="3" /> he grabbed him by the throat and started to choke him,<n id="4" /> saying, &#8216;Pay back what you owe me!&#8217;<n id="5" />

The crowds that went ahead of him and those following kept shouting,<n id="1" /> &#8220;<i>Hosannai><n id="2" /> to the Son of David! <b><i>Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!i>b><n id="3" /> <i>Hosannai> in the highest!&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;Listen to another parable: There was a landowner<n id="1" /> who planted a vineyard.<n id="2" /> He put a fence around it, dug a pit for its winepress, and built a watchtower. Then<n id="3" /> he leased it to tenant farmers<n id="4" /> and went on a journey.

But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, &#8216;This is the heir. Come, let&#8217;s kill him and get his inheritance!&#8217;

Then the king said to his attendants, &#8216;Tie him up hand and foot and throw him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth!&#8217;

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;Woe to you, experts in the law<n id="1" /> and you Pharisees, hypocrites! You cross land and sea to make one convert,<n id="2" /> and when you get one,<n id="3" /> you make him twice as much a child of hell<n id="4" /> as yourselves!p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor asked him,<n id="2" /> &#8220;Are you the king<n id="3" /> of the Jews?&#8221; Jesus<n id="4" /> said, &#8220;You say so.&#8221;<n id="5" />
