He ¹  will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death will not exist any more – or mourning, or crying, or pain, for the former things have ceased to exist.” ² 

Every ¹  island fled away ²  and no mountains could be found. ³ 

These kings ¹  have a single intent, and they will give their power and authority to the beast.

They will bring the grandeur and the wealth ¹  of the nations ²  into it,

‘I know your deeds: your love, faith, ¹  service, and steadfast endurance. ²  In fact, ³  your more recent deeds are greater than your earlier ones.

Look! I am throwing her onto a bed of violent illness, ¹  and those who commit adultery with her into terrible suffering, ²  unless they repent of her deeds.

Now ¹  I heard the angel of the waters saying: “You are just ²  – the one who is and who was, the Holy One – because you have passed these judgments, ³ 

Finally ¹  the seventh angel ²  poured out his bowl into the air and a loud voice came out of the temple from the throne, saying: “It is done!”

These two have the power ¹  to close up the sky so that it does not rain during the time ²  they are prophesying. They ³  have power ⁴  to turn the waters to blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague whenever they want.

The ¹  nations ²  were enraged, but ³  your wrath has come, and the time has come for the dead to be judged, and the time has come to give to your servants, ⁴  the prophets, their reward, as well as to the saints and to those who revere ⁵  your name, both small and great, and the time has come ⁶  to destroy those who destroy ⁷  the earth.”

And the sound of the harpists, musicians, flute players, and trumpeters will never be heard in you ¹  again. No ²  craftsman ³  who practices any trade will ever be found in you again; the noise of a mill ⁴  will never be heard in you again.

He held ¹  seven stars in his right hand, and a sharp double-edged sword extended out of his mouth. His ²  face shone like the sun shining at full strength.

Because you have kept ¹  my admonition ²  to endure steadfastly, ³  I will also keep you from the hour of testing that is about to come on the whole world to test those who live on the earth.

because the Lamb in the middle of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.” ¹ 

So ¹  he carried me away in the Spirit ²  to a wilderness, ³  and there ⁴  I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns.

They will make war with the Lamb, but the Lamb will conquer them, because he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those accompanying ¹  the Lamb are the called, chosen, and faithful.”

Then ¹  one powerful angel picked up a stone like a huge millstone, threw it into the sea, and said, “With this kind of sudden violent force ²  Babylon the great city will be thrown down ³  and it will never be found again!

But ¹  he said to me, “Do not do this! ²  I am a fellow servant ³  with you and with your brothers the prophets, and with those who obey ⁴  the words of this book. Worship God!”

‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. ¹  I wish you were either cold or hot!

(These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth.) ¹
