But you must not turn away from all the commandments I am giving ¹  you today, to either the right or left, nor pursue other gods and worship ²  them.

but with whoever stands with us here today before the Lord our God as well as those not with us here today. ¹ 

I invoke heaven and earth as witnesses against you ¹  today that you will surely and swiftly be removed ²  from the very land you are about to cross the Jordan to possess. You will not last long there because you will surely be ³  annihilated.

You said, “The Lord our God has shown us his great glory ¹  and we have heard him speak from the middle of the fire. It is now clear to us ²  that God can speak to human beings and they can keep on living.

Bear in mind today that I am not speaking ¹  to your children who have not personally experienced the judgments ²  of the Lord your God, which revealed ³  his greatness, strength, and power. ⁴ 

Today I invoke heaven and earth as a witness against you that I have set life and death, blessing and curse, before you. Therefore choose life so that you and your descendants may live!

And what other great nation has statutes and ordinances as just ¹  as this whole law ²  that I am about to share with ³  you today?

He ¹  did not make this covenant with our ancestors ²  but with us, we who are here today, all of us living now.

So keep the commandments, statutes, and ordinances that I today am commanding you to do.

and to keep the Lord’s commandments and statutes that I am giving ¹  you today for your own good?

Be certain to keep all the statutes and ordinances that I am presenting to you today.

You must not do like we are doing here today, with everyone ¹  doing what seems best to him,

if you carefully obey ¹  him ²  by keeping ³  all these commandments that I am giving ⁴  you today.

Then Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people: “Pay attention to all the commandments ¹  I am giving ²  you today.

You must obey him ¹  and keep his commandments and statutes that I am giving you today.”

“This commandment I am giving ¹  you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it too remote.

Now if you forget the Lord your God at all ¹  and follow other gods, worshiping and prostrating yourselves before them, I testify to you today that you will surely be annihilated.

Now, if you pay close attention ¹  to my commandments that I am giving you today and love ²  the Lord your God and serve him with all your mind and being, ³ 

and the curse if you pay no attention ¹  to his ²  commandments and turn from the way I am setting before ³  you today to pursue ⁴  other gods you have not known.

You must go to the priest in office at that time and say to him, “I declare today to the Lord your ¹  God that I have come into the land that the Lord ²  promised ³  to our ancestors ⁴  to give us.”
