And these will depart into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

After ¹  singing a hymn, ²  they went out to the Mount of Olives.

“Blessed are you when people ¹  insult you and persecute you and say all kinds of evil things about you falsely ²  on account of me.

For I tell you, unless your righteousness goes beyond that of the experts in the law ¹  and the Pharisees, ²  you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

For what does it benefit a person ¹  if he gains the whole world but forfeits his life? Or what can a person give in exchange for his life?

Then the high priest tore his clothes and declared, ¹  “He has blasphemed! Why do we still need witnesses? Now ²  you have heard the blasphemy!

The crowds that went ahead of him and those following kept shouting, ¹  “Hosanna ²  to the Son of David! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! ³  Hosanna in the highest!”

Then ¹  Jesus entered the temple area ²  and drove out all those who were selling and buying in the temple courts, ³  and turned over the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those selling doves.

From that time Jesus began to preach this message: ¹  “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”

So then, if you bring your gift to the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you,

leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother and then come and present your gift.

Beware ¹  of people, because they will hand you over to councils ²  and flog ³  you in their synagogues. ⁴ 

Then Jesus began to criticize openly the cities ¹  in which he had done many of his miracles, because they did not repent.

Then some of the experts in the law ¹  along with some Pharisees ²  answered him, ³  “Teacher, we want to see a sign ⁴  from you.”

It will be this way at the end of the age. Angels will come and separate the evil from the righteous

These are the things that defile a person; it is not eating with unwashed hands that defiles a person.” ¹ 

He ¹  said to them, “Not everyone can accept this statement, except those to whom it has been given.

And call no one your ‘father’ on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven.

And whoever swears by the temple swears by it and the one who dwells in it.

And after taking the cup and giving thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you,
