With every prayer and petition, pray<n id="1" /> at all times in the Spirit, and to this end<n id="2" /> be alert, with all perseverance and requests for all the saints.

At the same time pray<n id="1" /> for us too, that<n id="2" /> God may open a door for the message<n id="3" /> so that we may proclaim<n id="4" /> the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.<n id="5" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">Finally, pray for us, brothers and sisters,<n id="1" /> that the Lord&#8217;s message<n id="2" /> may spread quickly and be honored<n id="3" /> as in fact it was among you,

Is anyone among you ill? He should summon the elders of the church, and they should pray for him and anoint<n id="1" /> him with oil in the name of the Lord.

So confess your sins to one another and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great effectiveness.<n id="1" />

Elijah was a human being<n id="1" /> like us, and he prayed earnestly<n id="2" /> that it would not rain and there was no rain on the land for three years and six months!

But whenever you pray, go into your room,<n id="1" /> close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.<n id="2" />

Going a little farther, he threw himself down with his face to the ground and prayed,<n id="1" /> &#8220;My Father, if possible,<n id="2" /> let this cup<n id="3" /> pass from me! Yet not what I will, but what you will.&#8221;

He went away a second time and prayed,<n id="1" /> &#8220;My Father, if this cup<n id="2" /> cannot be taken away unless I drink it, your will must be done.&#8221;

Whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven will<n id="1" /> also forgive you your sins.&#8221;p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Once<n id="1" /> when Jesus<n id="2" /> was praying<n id="3" /> by himself, and his disciples were nearby, he asked them,<n id="4" /> &#8220;Who do the crowds say that I am?&#8221;<n id="5" />

The Pharisee stood and prayed about himself like this:<n id="1" /> &#8216;God, I thank<n id="2" /> you that I am not like other people:<n id="3" /> extortionists,<n id="4" /> unrighteous people,<n id="5" /> adulterers &#8211; or even like this tax collector.<n id="6" />

Then the Lord told him, &#8220;Get up and go to the street called &#8216;Straight,&#8217;<n id="1" /> and at Judas&#8217; house look for a man from Tarsus named Saul. For he is praying,

But Peter sent them all outside,<n id="1" /> knelt down,<n id="2" /> and prayed. Turning<n id="3" /> to the body, he said, &#8220;Tabitha, get up.&#8221; Then she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up.<n id="4" />

Cornelius<n id="1" /> replied,<n id="2" /> &#8220;Four days ago at this very hour, at three o&#8217;clock in the afternoon,<n id="3" /> I was praying in my house, and suddenly<n id="4" /> a man in shining clothing stood before me

&#8220;I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision,<n id="1" /> an object something like a large sheet descending,<n id="2" /> being let down from heaven<n id="3" /> by its four corners, and it came to me.

When<n id="1" /> our time was over,<n id="2" /> we left and went on our way. All of them, with their wives and children, accompanied<n id="3" /> us outside of the city. After<n id="4" /> kneeling down on the beach and praying,<n id="5" />

The father<n id="1" /> of Publius lay sick in bed, suffering from fever and dysentery. Paul went in to see him<n id="2" /> and after praying, placed<n id="3" /> his hands on him and healed<n id="4" /> him.

<p class="bodytext">In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness, for we do not know how we should pray,<n id="1" /> but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with inexpressible groanings.
