When he had seized him, he put him in prison, handing him over to four squads<n id="1" /> of soldiers to guard him. Herod<n id="2" /> planned<n id="3" /> to bring him out for public trial<n id="4" /> after the Passover.

For this<n id="1" /> is what the Lord has commanded us: &#8216;<i>I have appointedi><n id="2" /> <i>you to be a lighti><n id="3" /> <i>for the Gentiles, to bring salvationi><n id="4" /> <i>to the ends of the earth.i>&#8217;&#8221;<n id="5" />

just as it is written,p> <p class="otpoetry">&#8220;<i><b>Lookb>, <b>I am laying in Zion a stone that will cause people to stumbleb>i>p> <p class="otpoetry"><b><i>and a rock that will make them fall,i>b><n id="1" />p> <p class="otpoetry"><b><i>yet the one who believes in him will not be put to shame.i>b>&#8221;<n id="2" />p>

According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master-builder I laid a foundation, but someone else builds on it. And each one must be careful how he builds.

What then is my reward? That when I preach the gospel I may offer the gospel free of charge, and so not make full use of my rights in the gospel.p>

And God has placed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, gifts of healing, helps, gifts of leadership, different kinds of tongues.

On the first day of the week, each of you should set aside some income<n id="1" /> and save<n id="2" /> it to the extent that God has blessed you,<n id="3" /> so that a collection will not have to be made<n id="4" /> when I come.

and not like Moses who used to put a veil over his face to keep the Israelites<n id="1" /> from staring<n id="2" /> at the result<n id="3" /> of the glory that was made ineffective.<n id="4" />

<p class="bodytext">I am grateful to the one who has strengthened me, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he considered me faithful in putting me into ministry,

For this I was appointed a preacher and apostle &#8211; I am telling the truth;<n id="1" /> I am not lying &#8211; and a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.

<p class="bodytext">But to which of the angels<n id="1" /> has he ever said, &#8220;<b><i>Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feeti>b>&#8221;?<n id="2" />

After Joseph<n id="1" /> bought a linen cloth<n id="2" /> and took down the body, he wrapped it in the linen and placed it in a tomb cut out of the rock.<n id="3" /> Then<n id="4" /> he rolled a stone across the entrance<n id="5" /> of the tomb.

But he said to them, &#8220;Do not be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified.<n id="1" /> He has been raised!<n id="2" /> He is not here. Look, there is the place where they laid him.

All<n id="1" /> who heard these things<n id="2" /> kept them in their hearts,<n id="3" /> saying, &#8220;What then will this child be?&#8221;<n id="4" /> For the Lord&#8217;s hand<n id="5" /> was indeed with him.p>

then the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not foresee, and will cut him in two,<n id="1" /> and assign him a place with the unfaithful.<n id="2" />

The king<n id="1" /> said to him, &#8216;I will judge you by your own words,<n id="2" /> you wicked slave!<n id="3" /> So you knew, did you, that I was a severe<n id="4" /> man, withdrawing what I didn&#8217;t deposit and reaping what I didn&#8217;t sow?

So she went running<n id="1" /> to Simon Peter and the other disciple whom Jesus loved and told them, &#8220;They have taken the Lord from the tomb, and we don&#8217;t know where they have put him!&#8221;
