So Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. Just as the Father has sent me, I also send you.”

Jesus turned around and saw them following and said to them, &#8220;What do you want?&#8221;<n id="1" /> So they said to him, &#8220;Rabbi&#8221; (which is translated Teacher),<n id="2" /> &#8220;where are you staying?&#8221;

Jesus<n id="1" /> answered,<n id="2" /> &#8220;Come and you will see.&#8221; So they came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day. Now it was about four o&#8217;clock in the afternoon.<n id="3" />p>

Jesus replied,<n id="1" /> &#8220;I tell you the solemn truth,<n id="2" /> you are looking for me not because you saw miraculous signs, but because you ate all the loaves of bread you wanted.<n id="3" />

<p class="bodytext">Then Jesus told them, &#8220;I tell you the solemn truth,<n id="1" /> it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but my Father is giving you the true bread from heaven.

<p class="bodytext">Jesus said to them, &#8220;I am the bread of life. The one who comes to me will never go hungry, and the one who believes in me will never be thirsty.<n id="1" />

Jesus said to them, &#8220;I tell you the solemn truth,<n id="1" /> unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood,<n id="2" /> you have no life<n id="3" /> in yourselves.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then Jesus spoke out again,<n id="1" /> &#8220;I am the light of the world.<n id="2" /> The one who follows me will never<n id="3" /> walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then Jesus<n id="1" /> said to them again,<n id="2" /> &#8220;I am going away, and you will look for me<n id="3" /> but will die in your sin.<n id="4" /> Where I am going you cannot come.&#8221;

Jesus replied,<n id="1" /> &#8220;You people<n id="2" /> are from below; I am from above. You people are from this world; I am not from this world.

<p class="bodytext">They answered him,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Abraham is our father!&#8221;<n id="2" /> Jesus replied,<n id="3" /> &#8220;If you are<n id="4" /> Abraham&#8217;s children, you would be doing<n id="5" /> the deeds of Abraham.

Jesus replied,<n id="1" /> &#8220;If God were your Father, you would love me, for I have come from God and am now here.<n id="2" /> I<n id="3" /> have not come on my own initiative,<n id="4" /> but he<n id="5" /> sent me.

So the Pharisees asked him again how he had gained his sight.<n id="1" /> He replied,<n id="2" /> &#8220;He put mud<n id="3" /> on my eyes and I washed, and now<n id="4" /> I am able to see.&#8221;p>

The man replied,<n id="1" /> &#8220;This is a remarkable thing,<n id="2" /> that you don&#8217;t know where he comes from, and yet he caused me to see!<n id="3" />

Jesus replied,<n id="1" /> &#8220;I told you and you do not believe. The deeds<n id="2" /> I do in my Father&#8217;s name testify about me.

The one who had died came out, his feet and hands tied up with strips of cloth,<n id="1" /> and a cloth wrapped around his face.<n id="2" /> Jesus said to them, &#8220;Unwrap him<n id="3" /> and let him go.&#8221;p>

<p class="bodytext">So when Jesus<n id="1" /> had washed their feet and put his outer clothing back on, he took his place at the table<n id="2" /> again and said to them, &#8220;Do you understand<n id="3" /> what I have done for you?

If I had not performed<n id="1" /> among them the miraculous deeds<n id="2" /> that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin.<n id="3" /> But now they have seen the deeds<n id="4" /> and have hated both me and my Father.<n id="5" />

<p class="bodytext">Jesus could see<n id="1" /> that they wanted to ask him about these things,<n id="2" /> so<n id="3" /> he said to them, &#8220;Are you asking<n id="4" /> each other about this &#8211; that I said, &#8216;In a little while you<n id="5" /> will not see me; again after a little while, you<n id="6" /> will see me&#8217;?

because I have given them the words you have given me. They<n id="1" /> accepted<n id="2" /> them<n id="3" /> and really<n id="4" /> understand<n id="5" /> that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me.
