They appeared in glorious splendor and spoke about his departure<n id="1" /> that he was about to carry out<n id="2" /> at Jerusalem.<n id="3" />

But he replied,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey<n id="2" /> it!&#8221;p>

Woe to you! You build<n id="1" /> the tombs of the prophets whom your ancestors<n id="2" /> killed.

Someone<n id="1" /> asked<n id="2" /> him, &#8220;Lord, will only a few<n id="3" /> be saved?&#8221; So<n id="4" /> he said to them,

Otherwise,<n id="1" /> when he has laid<n id="2" /> a foundation and is not able to finish the tower,<n id="3" /> all who see it<n id="4" /> will begin to make fun of<n id="5" /> him.

He<n id="1" /> was longing to eat<n id="2" /> the carob pods<n id="3" /> the pigs were eating, but<n id="4" /> no one gave him anything.

As<n id="1" /> he was entering<n id="2" /> a village, ten men with leprosy<n id="3" /> met him. They<n id="4" /> stood at a distance,

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now people<n id="1" /> were even bringing their babies<n id="2" /> to him for him to touch.<n id="3" /> But when the disciples saw it, they began to scold those who brought them.<n id="4" />

As<n id="1" /> they were untying the colt, its owners asked them,<n id="2" /> &#8220;Why are you untying that colt?&#8221;

He answered,<n id="1" /> &#8220;I tell you, if they<n id="2" /> keep silent, the very stones<n id="3" /> will cry out!&#8221;p>

So<n id="1" /> he sent another slave. They beat this one too, treated him outrageously, and sent him away empty-handed.<n id="2" />

&#8220;Show me a denarius.<n id="1" /> Whose image<n id="2" /> and inscription are on it?&#8221;<n id="3" /> They said, &#8220;Caesar&#8217;s.&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now some Sadducees<n id="1" /> (who contend that there is no resurrection)<n id="2" /> came to him.

and then the third married her, and in this same way all seven died, leaving no children.

In the resurrection, therefore, whose wife will the woman be?<n id="1" /> For all seven had married her.&#8221;<n id="2" />p>

<p class="bodytext">So<n id="1" /> Jesus said to them, &#8220;The people of this age<n id="2" /> marry and are given in marriage.

They<n id="1" /> devour<n id="2" /> widows&#8217; property,<n id="3" /> and as a show make long prayers. They will receive a more severe punishment.&#8221;p>

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.<n id="1" />p>

So<n id="1" /> they said, &#8220;Look, Lord, here are two swords.&#8221;<n id="2" /> Then he told them, &#8220;It is enough.&#8221;<n id="3" />p>

When<n id="1" /> those who were around him saw what was about to happen, they said, &#8220;Lord, should<n id="2" /> we use our swords?&#8221;<n id="3" />
