&#8216;I tell you that everyone who has will be given more,<n id="1" /> but from the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken away.<n id="2" />

For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit<n id="1" /> of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.&#8221;<n id="2" />

Not so with you;<n id="1" /> instead the one who is greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the leader<n id="2" /> like the one who serves.<n id="3" />

and said, &#8220;If<n id="1" /> you are the Christ,<n id="2" /> tell us.&#8221; But he said to them, &#8220;If<n id="3" /> I tell you, you will not<n id="4" /> believe,

Therefore produce<n id="1" /> fruit<n id="2" /> that proves your repentance, and don&#8217;t begin to say<n id="3" /> to yourselves, &#8216;We have Abraham as our father.&#8217;<n id="4" /> For I tell you that God can raise up children for Abraham from these stones!<n id="5" />

But in truth I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in Elijah&#8217;s days,<n id="1" /> when the sky<n id="2" /> was shut up three and a half years, and<n id="3" /> there was a great famine over all the land.

When Jesus heard this, he was amazed<n id="1" /> at him. He turned and said to the crowd that followed him, &#8220;I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such faith!&#8221;<n id="2" />

They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling out to one another,<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">&#8216;We played the flute for you, yet you did not dance;<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">we wailed in mourning,<n id="3" /> yet you did not weep.&#8217;p>

He<n id="1" /> said, &#8220;You have been given<n id="2" /> the opportunity to know<n id="3" /> the secrets<n id="4" /> of the kingdom of God,<n id="5" /> but for others they are in parables, so that <b><i>although they see they may not see, and although they hear they may not understandi>b>.<n id="6" />p>

&#8216;Even the dust of your town<n id="1" /> that clings to our feet we wipe off<n id="2" /> against you.<n id="3" /> Nevertheless know this: The kingdom of God has come.&#8217;<n id="4" />

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;Woe to you, Chorazin!<n id="1" /> Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if<n id="2" /> the miracles<n id="3" /> done in you had been done in Tyre<n id="4" /> and Sidon,<n id="5" /> they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.

Look, I have given you authority to tread<n id="1" /> on snakes and scorpions<n id="2" /> and on the full force of the enemy,<n id="3" /> and nothing will<n id="4" /> hurt you.

For I tell you that many prophets and kings longed to see<n id="1" /> what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.&#8221;p>

I tell you, even though the man inside<n id="1" /> will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of the first man&#8217;s<n id="2" /> sheer persistence<n id="3" /> he will get up and give him whatever he needs.p>

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;But woe to you Pharisees!<n id="1" /> You give a tenth<n id="2" /> of your mint,<n id="3" /> rue,<n id="4" /> and every herb, yet you neglect justice<n id="5" /> and love for God! But you should have done these things without neglecting the others.<n id="6" />

But Jesus<n id="1" /> replied,<n id="2" /> &#8220;Woe to you experts in religious law as well!<n id="3" /> You load people<n id="4" /> down with burdens difficult to bear, yet you yourselves refuse to touch<n id="5" /> the burdens with even one of your fingers!

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;I<n id="1" /> tell you, whoever acknowledges<n id="2" /> me before men,<n id="3" /> the Son of Man will also acknowledge<n id="4" /> before God&#8217;s angels.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> Jesus<n id="2" /> said to his<n id="3" /> disciples, &#8220;Therefore I tell you, do not worry<n id="4" /> about your<n id="5" /> life, what you will eat, or about your<n id="6" /> body, what you will wear.

Consider how the flowers<n id="1" /> grow; they do not work<n id="2" /> or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed like one of these!

Blessed are those slaves<n id="1" /> whom their master finds alert<n id="2" /> when he returns! I tell you the truth,<n id="3" /> he will dress himself to serve,<n id="4" /> have them take their place at the table,<n id="5" /> and will come<n id="6" /> and wait on them!<n id="7" />
