he is to calculate the value of the years it was sold, ¹  refund the balance ²  to the man to whom he had sold it, and return to his property.

If, however, the person who made the vow redeems the animal, ¹  he must add one fifth to ²  its conversion value.

If he consecrates his field in the jubilee year, ¹  the conversion value will stand,

If a man redeems ¹  part of his tithe, however, he must add one fifth to it. ² 

“‘If a man beats any person to death, ¹  he must be put to death.

He ¹  must bring the rest of the bull outside the camp ²  and burn it just as he burned the first bull – it is the sin offering of the assembly.

or his uncle or his cousin ¹  may redeem him, or anyone of the rest of his blood relatives – his family ²  – may redeem him, or if ³  he prospers he may redeem himself.

“‘When a man has a seminal emission, ¹  he must bathe his whole body in water ²  and be unclean until evening,

He must do with the rest of the bull just as he did with the bull of the sin offering; this is what he must do with it. ¹  So the priest will make atonement ²  on their behalf and they will be forgiven. ³ 

On the ceremonially pure lampstand ¹  he must arrange the lamps before the Lord continually.

The owner ¹  must not examine the animals to distinguish between good and bad, and he must not exchange it. If, however, he does exchange it, ²  both the original animal ³  and its substitute will be holy. ⁴  It must not be redeemed.’”

“‘If he cannot afford an animal from the flock, ¹  he must bring his penalty for guilt for his sin that he has committed, ²  two turtledoves or two young pigeons, ³  to the Lord, one for a sin offering and one for a burnt offering.

He must put on a holy linen tunic, ¹  linen leggings are to cover his body, ²  and he is to wrap himself with a linen sash ³  and wrap his head with a linen turban. ⁴  They are holy garments, so he must bathe ⁵  his body in water and put them on.

Then he slaughtered the ox and the ram – the peace offering sacrifices which were for the people – and Aaron’s sons handed ¹  the blood to him and he splashed it against the altar’s sides.

If a man has no redeemer, but he prospers ¹  and gains enough for its redemption, ² 

and one who misuses ¹  the name of the Lord must surely be put to death. The whole congregation must surely stone him, whether he is a foreigner or a native citizen; when he misuses the Name he must be put to death.

He then poured some of the anointing oil on the head of Aaron and anointed him to consecrate him.

He must then take the two goats ¹  and stand them before the Lord at the entrance of the Meeting Tent,

He must not profane his children among his people, ¹  for I am the Lord who sanctifies him.’”

“‘If his offering is a burnt offering ¹  from the herd he must present it as a flawless male; he must present it at the entrance ²  of the Meeting Tent for its ³  acceptance before the Lord.
