<p class="bodytext">Moses came<n id="1" /> and told the people all the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s words<n id="2" /> and all the decisions. All the people answered together,<n id="3" /> &#8220;We are willing to do<n id="4" /> all the words that the <sc>Lordsc> has said,&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">Then Pharaoh commanded all his people, &#8220;All sons<n id="1" /> that are born you must throw<n id="2" /> into the river, but all daughters you may let live.&#8221;<n id="3" />p>

<p class="bodytext">The <sc>Lordsc> said, &#8220;I have surely seen<n id="1" /> the affliction of my people who are in Egypt. I have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows.<n id="2" />

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;I will grant this people favor with<n id="1" /> the Egyptians, so that when<n id="2" /> you depart you will not leave empty-handed.

He<n id="1" /> will speak for you to the people, and it will be as if<n id="2" /> he<n id="3" /> were your mouth<n id="4" /> and as if you were his God.<n id="5" />

Aaron spoke<n id="1" /> all the words that the <sc>Lordsc> had spoken to Moses and did the signs in the sight of the people,

and the people believed. When they heard<n id="1" /> that the <sc>Lordsc> had attended to<n id="2" /> the Israelites and that he had seen their affliction, they bowed down close to the ground.<n id="3" />p>

<t /><n id="1" /><p class="bodytext">Afterward Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said, &#8220;Thus says the <sc>Lordsc>,<n id="2" /> the God of Israel, &#8216;Release<n id="3" /> my people so that they may hold a pilgrim feast<n id="4" /> to me in the desert.&#8217;&#8221;

The king of Egypt said to them, &#8220;Moses and Aaron, why do you cause the people to refrain from their work?<n id="1" /> Return to your labor!&#8221;

&#8220;You must no longer<n id="1" /> give straw to the people for making bricks<n id="2" /> as before.<n id="3" /> Let them go<n id="4" /> and collect straw for themselves.

No straw is given to your servants, but we are told,<n id="1" /> &#8216;Make bricks!&#8217; Your servants are even<n id="2" /> being beaten, but the fault<n id="3" /> is with your people.&#8221;p>

<t /><n id="1" /><p class="bodytext">Moses returned<n id="2" /> to the <sc>Lordsc>, and said, &#8220;Lord,<n id="3" /> why have you caused trouble for this people?<n id="4" /> Why did you ever<n id="5" /> send me?

I will take you to myself for a people, and I will be your God.<n id="1" /> Then you will know that I am the <sc>Lordsc> your God, who brought you out from your enslavement to<n id="2" /> the Egyptians.

Tell him, &#8216;The <sc>Lordsc>, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to you to say,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Release my people, that they may serve me<n id="2" /> in the desert!&#8221; But until now<n id="3" /> you have not listened.<n id="4" />

<v id="(7:26)" /><n id="1" /> Then the <sc>Lordsc> said to Moses, &#8220;Go to Pharaoh and tell him, &#8216;Thus says the <sc>Lordsc>: &#8220;Release my people in order that they may serve me!

The Nile will swarm<n id="1" /> with frogs, and they will come up and go into your house, in your bedroom, and on your bed, and into the houses of your servants and your people, and into your ovens and your kneading troughs.<n id="2" />

Moses said to Pharaoh, &#8220;You may have the honor over me<n id="1" /> &#8211; when shall I pray for you, your servants, and your people, for the frogs to be removed<n id="2" /> from you and your houses, so that<n id="3" /> they will be left<n id="4" /> only in the Nile?&#8221;

and the <sc>Lordsc> did as Moses asked<n id="1" /> &#8211; he removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people. Not one remained!

But Pharaoh hardened<n id="1" /> his heart this time also and did not release the people.p>

<t /><n id="1" /><p class="bodytext">Then the <sc>Lordsc> said to Moses, &#8220;Go to Pharaoh and tell him, &#8216;Thus says the <sc>Lord,sc> the God of the Hebrews, &#8220;Release my people that they may serve me!
