These were the families of Naphtali according to their families; and those numbered of them were 45,400. ¹ 

These were those numbered of the Israelites, 601,730. ¹ 

To a larger group you will give a larger inheritance, ¹  and to a smaller group you will give a smaller inheritance. ²  To each one its inheritance must be given according to the number of people in it. ³ 

“Let the Lord, the God of the spirits of all humankind, ¹  appoint ²  a man over the community,

“Only the tribe of Levi ¹  you must not number ²  or count ³  with ⁴  the other Israelites.

All those numbered of the camp of Judah, according to their divisions, are 186,400. They will travel ¹  at the front.

All those numbered of the camp of Reuben, according to their divisions, are 151,450. They will travel second.

All those numbered of the camp of Dan are 157,600. They will travel last, under their standards.”

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Number all the firstborn males of the Israelites from a month old and upward, and take ¹  the number of their names.

And all the firstborn males, by the number of the names from a month old and upward, totaled 22,273.

You must number them from thirty years old and upward to fifty years old, all who enter the company to do the work of the tent of meeting.
