It is not with you alone that I am making this covenant by oath,

The <sc>Lordsc> will deliver them over to you and you will do to them according to the whole commandment I have given you.

my father fought for you; he risked his life<n id="1" /> and delivered you from Midian&#8217;s power.<n id="2" />

But since you abandoned me and worshiped<n id="1" /> other gods, I will not deliver you again.

You must never forget the agreement I made with you, and you must not worship other gods.

Instead you must worship the <sc>Lordsc> your God; then he will rescue you from the power of all your enemies.&#8221;

<p class="poetry">Would it turn out well if he would examine<n id="1" /> you?p> <p class="poetry">Or as one deceives<n id="2" /> a man would you deceive him?p>

<p class="poetry">I will never<n id="1" /> declare that you three<n id="2" /> are in the right;p> <p class="poetry">until I die, I will not set aside my integrity!p>

<p class="poetry">I will teach you<n id="1" /> about the power<n id="2" /> of God;p> <p class="poetry">What is on the Almighty&#8217;s mind<n id="3" /> I will not conceal.p>

<p class="poetry">Those who pass by will not say,<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;May you experience the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s blessing!p> <p class="poetry">We pronounce a blessing on you in the name of the <sc>Lordsc>.&#8221;p>

<p class="poetry">If only<n id="1" /> you will respond<n id="2" /> to my rebuke,<n id="3" />p> <p class="poetry">then<n id="4" /> I will pour<n id="5" /> out my thoughts<n id="6" /> to youp> <p class="poetry">and<n id="7" /> I will make<n id="8" /> my words known to you.p>

<p class="sosspeaker"><b><i>The Beloved to the Maidens:i>b>p> <p class="poetry">I admonish you, O maidens<n id="1" /> of Jerusalem:p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;Do not<n id="2" /> arouse or awaken love until it pleases!&#8221;p>

This is what the king says: &#8216;Don&#8217;t let Hezekiah mislead you, for he is not able to rescue you!

<p class="poetry">Look, my earlier predictive oracles have come to pass;<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">now I announce new events.p> <p class="poetry">Before they begin to occur,p> <p class="poetry">I reveal them to you.&#8221;<n id="2" />p>

<t /><p class="poetry">&#8220;So, once more I will state my case<n id="1" /> against you,&#8221; says the <sc>Lordsc>.p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;I will also state it against your children and grandchildren.<n id="2" />p>

<p class="bodytext">Yet even then<n id="1" /> I will not completely destroy you,&#8221; says the <sc>Lordsc>.

If you stop doing these things,<n id="1" /> I will allow you to continue to live in this land<n id="2" /> which I gave to your ancestors as a lasting possession.<n id="3" />p>

In anger, in fury, and in wrath I myself will fight against you with my mighty power and great strength!<n id="1" />

King Zedekiah said to them, &#8220;Very well, you can do what you want with him.<n id="1" /> For I cannot do anything to stop you.&#8221;<n id="2" />

You will die by the sword; I will judge you at the border of Israel. Then you will know that I am the <sc>Lordsc>.
