¹ When the people complained, ²  it displeased ³  the Lord. When the Lord heard ⁴  it, his anger burned, ⁵  and so ⁶  the fire of the Lord ⁷  burned among them and consumed some of the outer parts of the camp.

God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a human being, ¹  that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not make it happen? ² 

this is in addition to the monthly burnt offering and its grain offering, and the daily burnt offering with its grain offering and their drink offerings as prescribed, as a sweet aroma, a sacrifice made by fire to the Lord.

Also, they must take away the ashes from the altar ¹  and spread a purple cloth over it.

Moses sent spies to reconnoiter ¹  Jaazer, and they captured its villages ²  and dispossessed the Amorites who were there.

The border will continue to Ziphron, and its direction will be to Hazar Enan. This will be your northern border.

and a man has sexual relations ¹  with her ²  without her husband knowing it, ³  and it is hidden that she has defiled herself, since ⁴  there was no witness against her, nor was she caught –

But if when her husband hears it he overrules her, then he will nullify ¹  the vow she has taken, ²  and whatever she uttered impulsively which she has pledged for herself. And the Lord will release her from it.

Then a ceremonially clean person must take hyssop, dip it in the water, and sprinkle it on the tent, on all its furnishings, and on the people who were there, or on the one who touched a bone, or one killed, or one who died, or a grave.

To a larger group you will give a larger inheritance, ¹  and to a smaller group you will give a smaller inheritance. ²  To each one its inheritance must be given according to the number of people in it. ³ 

But Moses said, “Why ¹  are you now transgressing the commandment ²  of the Lord? It will not succeed!

But if her father overrules her when he hears ¹  about it, then none ²  of her vows or her obligations which she has pledged for herself will stand. And the Lord will release ³  her from it, because her father overruled her.

And one male goat ¹  must be offered to the Lord as a purification offering, in addition to the continual burnt offering and its drink offering.

When you have seen it, you will be gathered ¹  to your ancestors, ²  as Aaron your brother was gathered to his ancestors. ³ 

The priest will take the grain offering of suspicion from the woman’s hand, wave the grain offering before the Lord, and bring it to the altar.

When the community assembled ¹  against Moses and Aaron, they turned toward the tent of meeting – and ²  the cloud covered it, and the glory of the Lord appeared.

If the Lord delights in us, then he will bring us into this land and give it to us – a land that is flowing with milk and honey. ¹ 

This is the service of the families of Gershonites, as they serve ¹  and carry it.

I am not able to bear this entire people alone, ¹  because it ²  is too heavy for me!

God brought them ¹  out of Egypt. They have, as it were, the strength of a wild bull. ²
