The crowds were paying attention with one mind to what Philip said, ¹  as they heard and saw the miraculous signs ²  he was performing.

But I said, ‘Certainly not, Lord, for nothing defiled or ritually unclean ¹  has ever entered my mouth!’

For ¹  a period of about forty years he put up with ²  them in the wilderness. ³ 

And Saul agreed completely with killing ¹  him.Now on that day a great ²  persecution began ³  against the church in Jerusalem, ⁴  and all ⁵  except the apostles were forced to scatter throughout the regions ⁶  of Judea and Samaria.

When Herod ¹  had searched ²  for him and did not find him, he questioned ³  the guards and commanded that they be led away to execution. ⁴  Then ⁵  Herod ⁶  went down from Judea to Caesarea ⁷  and stayed there.

After some days Paul said to Barnabas, “Let’s return ¹  and visit the brothers in every town where we proclaimed the word of the Lord ²  to see how they are doing.” ³ 

Paul, after staying ¹  many more days in Corinth, ²  said farewell to ³  the brothers and sailed away to Syria accompanied by ⁴  Priscilla and Aquila. ⁵  He ⁶  had his hair cut off ⁷  at Cenchrea ⁸  because he had made a vow. ⁹ 

Now there were devout Jews ¹  from every nation under heaven residing in Jerusalem. ² 

until another king who did not know about ¹  Joseph ruled ²  over Egypt. ³ 

In ¹  past ²  generations he allowed all the nations ³  to go their own ways,

When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus,

beginning from his baptism by John until the day he ¹  was taken up from us – one of these must become a witness of his resurrection together with us.”

For there was no one needy ¹  among them, because those who were owners of land or houses were selling ²  them ³  and bringing the proceeds from the sales

Now when Silas and Timothy arrived ¹  from Macedonia, ²  Paul became wholly absorbed with proclaiming ³  the word, testifying ⁴  to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ. ⁵ 

They took soundings ¹  and found the water was twenty fathoms ²  deep; when they had sailed a little farther ³  they took soundings again and found it was fifteen fathoms ⁴  deep.

To the same apostles ¹  also, after his suffering, ²  he presented himself alive with many convincing proofs. He was seen by them over a forty-day period ³  and spoke about matters concerning the kingdom of God.

Now in those ¹  days, when the disciples were growing in number, ²  a complaint arose on the part of the Greek-speaking Jews ³  against the native Hebraic Jews, ⁴  because their widows ⁵  were being overlooked ⁶  in the daily distribution of food. ⁷ 

I punished ¹  them often in all the synagogues ²  and tried to force ³  them to blaspheme. Because I was so furiously enraged ⁴  at them, I went to persecute ⁵  them even in foreign cities.

For ¹  John baptized with water, but you ²  will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

With many other words he testified ¹  and exhorted them saying, “Save yourselves from this perverse ²  generation!”
