(Now Jesus<n id="1" /> said this to indicate clearly by what kind of death Peter<n id="2" /> was going to glorify God.)<n id="3" /> After he said this, Jesus told Peter,<n id="4" /> &#8220;Follow me.&#8221;p>

Jesus replied,<n id="1" /> &#8220;If I want him to live<n id="2" /> until I come back,<n id="3" /> what concern is that of yours? You follow me!&#8221;

came to Jesus<n id="1" /> at night<n id="2" /> and said to him, &#8220;Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs<n id="3" /> that you do unless God is with him.&#8221;

Jesus answered,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Even if I testify about myself, my testimony is true, because I know where I came from and where I am going. But you people<n id="2" /> do not know where I came from or where I am going.<n id="3" />

Jesus<n id="1" /> answered,<n id="2" /> &#8220;Come and you will see.&#8221; So they came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day. Now it was about four o&#8217;clock in the afternoon.<n id="3" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now at that very moment his disciples came back.<n id="1" /> They were shocked<n id="2" /> because he was speaking<n id="3" /> with a woman. However, no one said, &#8220;What do you want?&#8221;<n id="4" /> or &#8220;Why are you speaking with her?&#8221;

What did he mean by saying,<n id="1" /> &#8216;You will look for me<n id="2" /> but will not find me, and where I am you cannot come&#8217;?&#8221;p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then Jesus<n id="1" /> said to them again,<n id="2" /> &#8220;I am going away, and you will look for me<n id="3" /> but will die in your sin.<n id="4" /> Where I am going you cannot come.&#8221;

Yet<n id="1" /> you do not know him, but I know him. If I were to say that I do not know him,<n id="2" /> I would be a liar like you. But I do know him, and I obey<n id="3" /> his teaching.<n id="4" />

But we do not know how he is now able to see, nor do we know who caused him to see.<n id="1" /> Ask him, he is a mature adult.<n id="2" /> He will speak for himself.&#8221;

Children, I am still with you for a little while. You will look for me,<n id="1" /> and just as I said to the Jewish religious leaders,<n id="2" /> &#8216;Where I am going you cannot come,&#8217;<n id="3" /> now I tell you the same.<n id="4" />p>

But I have told you these things<n id="1" /> so that when their time<n id="2" /> comes, you will remember that I told you about them.<n id="3" />p> <p class="bodytext">&#8220;I did not tell you these things from the beginning because I was with you.<n id="4" />

because I have given them the words you have given me. They<n id="1" /> accepted<n id="2" /> them<n id="3" /> and really<n id="4" /> understand<n id="5" /> that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me.

that they will all be one, just as you, Father, are in me and I am in you. I pray<n id="1" /> that they will be in us, so that the world will believe that you sent me.

I in them and you in me &#8211; that they may be completely one,<n id="1" /> so that the world will know that you sent me, and you have loved them just as you have loved me.p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Meanwhile Simon Peter was standing in the courtyard<n id="1" /> warming himself. They said to him, &#8220;You aren&#8217;t one of his disciples too, are you?&#8221;<n id="2" /> Peter<n id="3" /> denied it: &#8220;I am not!&#8221;

Jesus replied, &#8220;You would have no authority<n id="1" /> over me at all, unless it was given to you from above. Therefore the one who handed me over to you<n id="2" /> is guilty of greater sin.&#8221;<n id="3" />p>

Jesus<n id="1" /> said<n id="2" /> a second time, &#8220;Simon, son of John, do you love me?&#8221; He replied,<n id="3" /> &#8220;Yes, Lord, you know I love you.&#8221; Jesus<n id="4" /> told him, &#8220;Shepherd my sheep.&#8221;

I tell you the solemn truth,<n id="1" /> when you were young, you tied your clothes around you<n id="2" /> and went wherever you wanted, but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and others will tie you up<n id="3" /> and bring you where you do not want to go.&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">Jesus said to her, &#8220;Woman, why are you weeping? Who are you looking for?&#8221; Because she<n id="1" /> thought he was the gardener, she said to him, &#8220;Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will take him.&#8221;
