<p class="bodytext">By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place he would later receive as an inheritance, and he went out without understanding where he was going.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now the main point of what we are saying is this:<n id="1" /> We have such a high priest, one who <i>sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaveni>,<n id="2" />

For in fact you shared the sufferings of those in prison,<n id="1" /> and you accepted the confiscation of your belongings with joy, because you knew that you certainly<n id="2" /> had a better and lasting possession.

<p class="bodytext">And so he is the mediator<n id="1" /> of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the eternal inheritance he has promised,<n id="2" /> since he died<n id="3" /> to set them free from the violations committed under the first covenant.

<t /><p class="bodytext">For the law possesses a shadow of the good things to come but not the reality itself, and is therefore completely unable, by the same sacrifices offered continually, year after year, to perfect those who come to worship.<n id="1" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses,<n id="1" /> we must get rid of every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and run with endurance the race set out for us,

The place where they serve is<n id="1" /> a sketch<n id="2" /> and shadow of the heavenly sanctuary, just as Moses was warned by God as he was about to complete the tabernacle. For he says, &#8220;<b><i>See that you make everything according to the designi>b><n id="3" /> <b><i>shown to you on the mountaini>b>.&#8221;<n id="4" />

See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God, that no one be like <i>a bitter rooti> <i>springing upi><n id="1" /> and causing trouble, and through him many become defiled.

and he was designated<n id="1" /> by God as high priest <b><i>in the order of Melchizedeki>b>.<n id="2" />p>

For they could not bear what was commanded: &#8220;<i><b>If even an animal touches the mountainb>, <b>it must be stonedb>i>.&#8221;<n id="1" />

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, sure and steadfast, which reaches inside behind the curtain,<n id="1" />

So since we are receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us give thanks, and through this let us offer worship pleasing to God in devotion and awe.

So do not throw away your confidence, because it<n id="1" /> has great reward.

For everyone who lives on milk is inexperienced in the message of righteousness, because he is an infant.

<t /><p class="bodytext">For to which of the angels did God<n id="1" /> ever say, &#8220;<b><i>You are my son! Today I have fathered youi>b>&#8221;?<n id="2" /> And in another place<n id="3" /> he says,<n id="4" /> &#8220;<b><i>I will be his father and he will be my soni>b>.&#8221;<n id="5" />

For if the message spoken through angels<n id="1" /> proved to be so firm that every violation<n id="2" /> or disobedience received its just penalty,

choosing rather to be ill-treated with the people of God than to enjoy sin&#8217;s fleeting pleasure.

For by one offering he has perfected for all time those who are made holy.

For by it the people of old<n id="1" /> received God&#8217;s commendation.<n id="2" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now the first covenant,<n id="1" /> in fact, had regulations for worship and its earthly sanctuary.
