(This requires ¹  a mind that has wisdom.) The seven heads are seven mountains ²  the woman sits on. They are also seven kings:

Then ¹  I saw another great and astounding sign in heaven: seven angels who have seven final plagues ²  (they are final because in them God’s anger is completed).

(The ripe fruit ¹  you greatly desired ²  has gone from you, and all your luxury ³  and splendor ⁴  have gone from you – they will never ever be found again!) ⁵ 

And the smoke from their ¹  torture will go up ²  forever and ever, and those who worship the beast and his image will have ³  no rest day or night, along with ⁴  anyone who receives the mark of his name.”

Furthermore, ¹  they did not repent of their murders, of their magic spells, ²  of their sexual immorality, or of their stealing.

This requires ¹  the steadfast endurance ²  of the saints – those who obey ³  God’s commandments and hold to ⁴  their faith in Jesus. ⁵ 

Its gates will never be closed during the day ¹  (and ²  there will be no night there). ³ 

I, John, your brother and the one who shares ¹  with you in the persecution, kingdom, and endurance that ²  are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony about Jesus. ³ 

And they threw dust on their heads and were shouting with weeping and mourning, ¹  “Woe, Woe, O great city – in which all those who had ships on the sea got rich from her wealth – because in a single hour she has been destroyed!” ² 

with these words: ¹  “We give you thanks, Lord God, the All-Powerful, ²  the one who is and who was, because you have taken your great power and begun to reign. ³ 

because in a single hour such great wealth has been destroyed!” ¹  And every ship’s captain, ²  and all who sail along the coast ³  – seamen, and all who ⁴  make their living from the sea, stood a long way off

Then ¹  I heard a loud voice in heaven saying, “The salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the ruling authority ²  of his Christ, ³  have now come, because the accuser of our brothers and sisters, ⁴  the one who accuses them day and night ⁵  before our God, has been thrown down.

Then ¹  I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write this: ‘Blessed are the dead, those who die in the Lord from this moment on!’” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “so they can rest from their hard work, ²  because their deeds will follow them.” ³ 

Another ¹  angel, who was in charge of ²  the fire, came from the altar and called in a loud voice to the angel ³  who had the sharp sickle, “Use ⁴  your sharp sickle and gather ⁵  the clusters of grapes ⁶  off the vine of the earth, ⁷  because its grapes ⁸  are now ripe.” ⁹ 

But to the cowards, unbelievers, detestable persons, murderers, the sexually immoral, and those who practice magic spells, ¹  idol worshipers, ²  and all those who lie, their place ³  will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. ⁴  That ⁵  is the second death.”

But ¹  they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives ²  so much that they were afraid to die.

saying, “Woe, woe, O great city – dressed in fine linen, purple and scarlet clothing, ¹  and adorned with gold, ²  precious stones, and pearls –

They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their sufferings ¹  and because of their sores, ²  but nevertheless ³  they still refused to repent ⁴  of their deeds.

Then ¹  a second time the crowd shouted, “Hallelujah!” The smoke rises from her forever and ever. ² 

He declared ¹  in a loud voice: “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has arrived, and worship the one who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water!”
