He sent men<n id="2" /> to kill all the children in Bethlehem<n id="3" /> and throughout the surrounding region from the age of two and under, according to the time he had learned from the wise men.

After noticing a fig tree<n id="1" /> by the road he went to it, but found nothing on it except leaves. He said to it, &#8220;Never again will there be fruit from you!&#8221; And the fig tree withered at once.

They sent to him their disciples along with the Herodians,<n id="1" /> saying, &#8220;Teacher, we know that you are truthful, and teach the way of God in accordance with the truth.<n id="2" /> You do not court anyone&#8217;s favor because you show no partiality.<n id="3" />
