<t /><p class="bodytext">When<n id="1" /> he saw the crowds, he went up the mountain.<n id="2" /> After he sat down his disciples came to him.

not by earth, because it is his footstool, and not by Jerusalem,<n id="1" /> because it is the city of the great King.

But I say to you, do not resist the evildoer.<n id="1" /> But whoever strikes you on the<n id="2" /> right cheek, turn the other to him as well.

And if this is how God clothes the wild grass,<n id="1" /> which is here today and tomorrow is tossed into the fire to heat the oven,<n id="2" /> won&#8217;t he clothe you even more,<n id="3" /> you people of little faith?

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;Enter through the narrow gate, because the gate is wide and the way is spacious that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.

But the gate is narrow and the way is difficult that leads to life, and there are few who find it.p>

but the sons of the kingdom will be thrown out into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.&#8221;<n id="1" />

Then the demons begged him,<n id="1" /> &#8220;If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs.&#8221;

Then<n id="1" /> the entire town<n id="2" /> came out to meet Jesus. And when they saw him, they begged him to leave their region.p>

When Jesus entered the ruler&#8217;s house and saw the flute players and the disorderly crowd,

Whenever<n id="1" /> you enter a town or village,<n id="2" /> find out who is worthy there<n id="3" /> and stay with them<n id="4" /> until you leave.

What I say to you in the dark, tell in the light, and what is whispered in your ear,<n id="1" /> proclaim from the housetops.<n id="2" />

<p class="bodytext">While they were going away, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: &#8220;What did you go out into the wilderness<n id="1" /> to see? A reed shaken by the wind?<n id="2" />

<p class="otpoetry"><b><i>He will not break a bruised reed or extinguish a smoldering wick,i>b>p> <p class="otpoetry"><i><b>until he brings justice to victoryb>.i>p>

Then it says, &#8216;I will return to the home I left.&#8217;<n id="1" /> When it returns,<n id="2" /> it finds the house<n id="3" /> empty, swept clean, and put in order.<n id="4" />

And such a large crowd gathered around him that he got into a boat to sit while<n id="1" /> the whole crowd stood on the shore.

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was cast into the sea that caught all kinds of fish.

When it was full, they pulled it ashore, sat down, and put the good fish into containers and threw the bad away.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now when Jesus heard this he went away from there privately in a boat to an isolated place. But when the crowd heard about it,<n id="1" /> they followed him on foot from the towns.<n id="2" />

And after he sent the crowds away, he went up the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone.
