And if the house is worthy, let your peace come on it, but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.<n id="1" />

Whenever<n id="1" /> they persecute you in one place,<n id="2" /> flee to another. I tell you the truth,<n id="3" /> you will not finish going through all the towns<n id="4" /> of Israel before the Son of Man comes.p>

The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, &#8216;Look at him,<n id="1" /> a glutton and a drunk, a friend of tax collectors<n id="2" /> and sinners!&#8217;<n id="3" /> But wisdom is vindicated<n id="4" /> by her deeds.&#8221;<n id="5" />p>

The queen of the South<n id="1" /> will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon &#8211; and now,<n id="2" /> something greater than Solomon is here!p>

When anyone hears the word about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one<n id="1" /> comes and snatches what was sown in his heart;<n id="2" /> this is the seed sown along the path.

It is the smallest of all the seeds, but when it has grown it is the greatest garden plant and becomes a tree,<n id="1" /> so that the wild birds<n id="2" /> come and nest in its branches.&#8221;<n id="3" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then he left the crowds and went into the house. And his disciples came to him saying, &#8220;Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field.&#8221;

Then<n id="1" /> he came to his hometown<n id="2" /> and began to teach the people<n id="3" /> in their synagogue.<n id="4" /> They<n id="5" /> were astonished and said, &#8220;Where did this man get such wisdom and miraculous powers?

<t /><p class="bodytext">When<n id="1" /> Jesus came to the area of Caesarea Philippi,<n id="2" /> he asked his disciples,<n id="3" /> &#8220;Who do people say that the Son of Man is?&#8221;

Then Jesus said to his disciples, &#8220;If anyone wants to become my follower,<n id="1" /> he must deny<n id="2" /> himself, take up his cross,<n id="3" /> and follow me.

For the Son of Man will come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then <i>he will reward each person according to what he has donei>.<n id="1" />

I tell you the truth,<n id="1" /> there are some standing here who will not<n id="2" /> experience<n id="3" /> death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.&#8221;<n id="4" />p>

And I tell you that Elijah has already come. Yet they did not recognize him, but did to him whatever they wanted. In<n id="1" /> the same way, the Son of Man will suffer at their hands.&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now when<n id="1" /> Jesus finished these sayings, he left Galilee and went to the region of Judea beyond the Jordan River.<n id="2" />

But Jesus said, &#8220;Let the little children come to me and do not try to stop them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.&#8221;<n id="1" />

The crowds that went ahead of him and those following kept shouting,<n id="1" /> &#8220;<i>Hosannai><n id="2" /> to the Son of David! <b><i>Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!i>b><n id="3" /> <i>Hosannai> in the highest!&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now after Jesus<n id="1" /> entered the temple courts,<n id="2" /> the chief priests and elders of the people came up to him as he was teaching and said, &#8220;By what authority<n id="3" /> are you doing these things, and who gave you this authority?&#8221;

For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him. But the tax collectors and prostitutes did believe. Although<n id="1" /> you saw this, you did not later change your minds<n id="2" /> and believe him.p>

so that on you will come all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Barachiah,<n id="1" /> whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.

But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief<n id="1" /> was coming, he would have been alert and would not have let his house be broken into.
