So he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

<i><b>But my righteous one will live by faithb>, <b>and if he shrinks backb>, <b>Ib>i><n id="1" /> <b><i>take no pleasure in himi>b>.<n id="2" />

Besides, we have experienced discipline from<n id="1" /> our earthly fathers<n id="2" /> and we respected them; shall we not submit ourselves all the more to the Father of spirits and receive life?<n id="3" />

you yourselves, as living stones, are built up as a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood and to offer<n id="1" /> spiritual sacrifices that are acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;To<n id="1" /> the angel of the church in Smyrna write the following:<n id="2" />p> <p class="bodytext">&#8220;This is the solemn pronouncement of<n id="3" /> the one who is the first and the last, the one who was dead, but<n id="4" /> came to life:

<p class="bodytext">And whenever the living creatures give glory, honor,<n id="1" /> and thanks to the one who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever,

(The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were finished.)<n id="1" /> This is the first resurrection.

I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats from this bread he will live forever. The bread<n id="1" /> that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.&#8221;p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">As he was saying these things, a ruler came, bowed low before him, and said, &#8220;My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her and she will live.&#8221;

But Jesus was silent. The<n id="1" /> high priest said to him, &#8220;I charge you under oath by the living God, tell us if you are the Christ,<n id="2" /> the Son of God.&#8221;

Jesus told him, &#8220;Go home;<n id="1" /> your son will live.&#8221; The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and set off for home.<n id="2" />p>

Then the father realized that it was the very time<n id="1" /> Jesus had said to him, &#8220;Your son will live,&#8221; and he himself believed along with his entire household.

I tell you the solemn truth,<n id="1" /> a time<n id="2" /> is coming &#8211; and is now here &#8211; when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.

This<n id="1" /> is the bread that came down from heaven; it is not like the bread your ancestors<n id="2" /> ate, but then later died.<n id="3" /> The one who eats<n id="4" /> this bread will live forever.&#8221;p>

To the same apostles<n id="1" /> also, after his suffering,<n id="2" /> he presented himself alive with many convincing proofs. He was seen by them over a forty-day period<n id="3" /> and spoke about matters concerning the kingdom of God.

This is the man who was in the congregation<n id="1" /> in the wilderness<n id="2" /> with the angel who spoke to him at Mount Sinai, and with our ancestors,<n id="3" /> and he<n id="4" /> received living oracles<n id="5" /> to give to you.<n id="6" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">The crowd<n id="1" /> was listening to him until he said this.<n id="2" /> Then<n id="3" /> they raised their voices and shouted,<n id="4" /> &#8220;Away with this man<n id="5" /> from the earth! For he should not be allowed to live!&#8221;<n id="6" />

When the local people<n id="1" /> saw the creature hanging from Paul&#8217;s<n id="2" /> hand, they said to one another, &#8220;No doubt this man is a murderer! Although he has escaped from the sea, Justice herself<n id="3" /> has not allowed him to live!&#8221;<n id="4" />

and do not present your members to sin as instruments<n id="1" /> to be used for unrighteousness,<n id="2" /> but present yourselves to God as those who are alive from the dead and your members to God as instruments<n id="3" /> to be used for righteousness.

So then,<n id="1" /> if she is joined to another man while her husband is alive, she will be called an adulteress. But if her<n id="2" /> husband dies, she is free from that law, and if she is joined to another man, she is not an adulteress.
