<t /><p class="bodytext">When Jesus had crossed again in a boat to the other side, a large crowd gathered around him, and he was by the sea.

His disciples said to him, &#8220;You see the crowd pressing against you and you say, &#8216;Who touched me?&#8217;&#8221;

As Jesus<n id="1" /> came ashore<n id="2" /> he saw the large crowd and he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So<n id="3" /> he taught them many things.p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Immediately Jesus<n id="1" /> made his disciples get into the boat and go on ahead to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he dispersed the crowd.

After Jesus<n id="1" /> took him aside privately, away from the crowd, he put his fingers in the man&#8217;s<n id="2" /> ears, and after spitting, he touched his tongue.<n id="3" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">In those days there was another large crowd with nothing to eat. So<n id="1" /> Jesus<n id="2" /> called his disciples and said to them,

A member of the crowd said to him, &#8220;Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that makes him mute.

<p class="bodyblock">Now<n id="1" /> they wanted to arrest him (but they feared the crowd), because they realized that he told this parable against them. So<n id="2" /> they left him and went away.<n id="3" />p>

<p class="bodyblock">If David himself calls him &#8216;Lord,&#8217; how can he be his son?&#8221;<n id="1" /> And the large crowd was listening to him with delight.p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> he<n id="2" /> sat down opposite the offering box,<n id="3" /> and watched the crowd putting coins into it. Many rich people were throwing in large amounts.

Because he wanted to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas for them. Then,<n id="1" /> after he had Jesus flogged,<n id="2" /> he handed him over<n id="3" /> to be crucified.p>

<p class="bodytext">So John<n id="1" /> said to the crowds<n id="2" /> that came out to be baptized by him, &#8220;You offspring of vipers!<n id="3" /> Who warned you to flee<n id="4" /> from the coming wrath?

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret,<n id="2" /> and the crowd was pressing around him<n id="3" /> to hear the word of God.

But the news about him spread even more,<n id="1" /> and large crowds were gathering together to hear him<n id="2" /> and to be healed of their illnesses.

<p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> Levi gave a great banquet<n id="2" /> in his house for Jesus,<n id="3" /> and there was a large crowd of tax collectors and others sitting<n id="4" /> at the table with them.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Soon<n id="1" /> afterward<n id="2" /> Jesus<n id="3" /> went to a town<n id="4" /> called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd went with him.

<p class="bodytext">When<n id="1" /> John&#8217;s messengers had gone, Jesus<n id="2" /> began to speak to the crowds about John: &#8220;What did you go out into the wilderness<n id="3" /> to see? A reed shaken by the wind?<n id="4" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now Jesus&#8217;<n id="1" /> mother and his brothers<n id="2" /> came to him, but<n id="3" /> they could not get near him because of the crowd.

because he had an only daughter, about twelve years old, and she was dying.<n id="1" />p> <p class="bodytext">As Jesus was on his way, the crowds pressed<n id="2" /> around him.

Then<n id="1" /> a man from the crowd cried out,<n id="2" /> &#8220;Teacher, I beg you to look at<n id="3" /> my son &#8211; he is my only child!
