The<n id="1" /> hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number who believed<n id="2" /> turned<n id="3" /> to the Lord.

Then when the proconsul<n id="1" /> saw what had happened, he believed,<n id="2" /> because he was greatly astounded<n id="3" /> at the teaching about<n id="4" /> the Lord.p>

When they had appointed elders<n id="1" /> for them in the various churches,<n id="2" /> with prayer and fasting<n id="3" /> they entrusted them to the protection<n id="4" /> of the Lord in whom they had believed.

The jailer<n id="1" /> brought them into his house and set food<n id="2" /> before them, and he rejoiced greatly<n id="3" /> that he had come to believe<n id="4" /> in God, together with his entire household.<n id="5" />

Therefore many of them believed, along with quite a few<n id="1" /> prominent<n id="2" /> Greek women and men.

Therefore keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God<n id="1" /> that it will be just as I have been told.

But not all have obeyed the good news, for Isaiah says, &#8220;<i><b>Lordb>, <b>who has believed our reportb>i>?&#8221;<n id="1" />

For in the first place, when you come together as a church I hear there are divisions among you, and in part I believe it.

and by which you are being saved, if you hold firmly to the message I preached to you &#8211; unless you believed in vain.

On the contrary, when they saw<n id="1" /> that I was entrusted with the gospel to the uncircumcised<n id="2" /> just as Peter was to the circumcised<n id="3" />

For it has been granted to you<n id="1" /> not only to believe in Christ but also to suffer for him,

Consequently<n id="1" /> God sends on them a deluding influence<n id="2" /> so that they will believe what is false.

(The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has testified concerning his Son.)<n id="1" />

Then Jesus said to the centurion, &#8220;Go; just as you believed, it will be done for you.&#8221; And the servant<n id="1" /> was healed at that hour.p>

So then, if someone<n id="1" /> says to you, &#8216;Look, he is in the wilderness,&#8217;<n id="2" /> do not go out, or &#8216;Look, he is in the inner rooms,&#8217; do not believe him.
