And<n id="1" /> a voice from heaven said,<n id="2" /> &#8220;This is my one dear Son;<n id="3" /> in him<n id="4" /> I take great delight.&#8221;<n id="5" />p>

not by earth, because it is his footstool, and not by Jerusalem,<n id="1" /> because it is the city of the great King.

I tell you, many will come from the east and west to share the banquet<n id="1" /> with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob<n id="2" /> in the kingdom of heaven,

but the sons of the kingdom will be thrown out into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.&#8221;<n id="1" />

And a great storm developed on the sea so that the waves began to swamp the boat. But he was asleep.

Then the demons begged him,<n id="1" /> &#8220;If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs.&#8221;

Then<n id="1" /> the entire town<n id="2" /> came out to meet Jesus. And when they saw him, they begged him to leave their region.p>

When the Pharisees<n id="1" /> saw this they said to his disciples, &#8220;Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?&#8221;<n id="2" />

What I say to you in the dark, tell in the light, and what is whispered in your ear,<n id="1" /> proclaim from the housetops.<n id="2" />

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;Whoever, then, acknowledges<n id="1" /> me before people, I will acknowledge<n id="2" /> before my Father in heaven.

But whoever denies me before people, I will deny him also before my Father in heaven.p>

What<n id="1" /> did you go out to see? A man dressed in fancy clothes?<n id="2" /> Look, those who wear fancy clothes are in the homes of kings!<n id="3" />

But when the Pharisees<n id="1" /> heard this they said, &#8220;He does not cast out demons except by the power of Beelzebul,<n id="2" /> the ruler<n id="3" /> of demons!&#8221;

He replied,<n id="1" /> &#8220;You have been given<n id="2" /> the opportunity to know<n id="3" /> the secrets<n id="4" /> of the kingdom of heaven, but they have not.

<t /><p class="bodytext">He presented them with another parable:<n id="1" /> &#8220;The kingdom of heaven is like a person who sowed good seed in his field.

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was cast into the sea that caught all kinds of fish.

It will be this way at the end of the age. Angels will come and separate the evil from the righteous

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now when Jesus heard this he went away from there privately in a boat to an isolated place. But when the crowd heard about it,<n id="1" /> they followed him on foot from the towns.<n id="2" />

Meanwhile the boat, already far from land,<n id="1" /> was taking a beating from the waves because the wind was against it.

&#8220;Why do your disciples disobey the tradition of the elders? For they don&#8217;t wash their<n id="1" /> hands when they eat.&#8221;<n id="2" />
