&#8216;<b><i>I am the God of your forefathers,i>b><n id="1" /> <b><i>the God of Abraham, Isaac,i>b><n id="2" /> <b><i>and Jacobi>b>.&#8217;<n id="3" /> Moses began to tremble and did not dare to look more closely.<n id="4" />

<b><i>But the Lord said to him,i>b> &#8216;<i><b>Take the sandals off your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy groundb>.i><n id="1" />

This is the Moses who said to the Israelites,<n id="1" /> &#8216;<b><i>God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothersi>b>.&#8217;<n id="2" />

At<n id="1" /> that time<n id="2" /> they made an idol in the form of a calf,<n id="3" /> brought<n id="4" /> a sacrifice to the idol, and began rejoicing<n id="5" /> in the works of their hands.<n id="6" />

For unclean spirits,<n id="1" /> crying with loud shrieks, were coming out of many who were possessed,<n id="2" /> and many paralyzed and lame people were healed.

<p class="bodytext">So after Peter and John<n id="1" /> had solemnly testified<n id="2" /> and spoken the word of the Lord,<n id="3" /> they started back to Jerusalem, proclaiming<n id="4" /> the good news to many Samaritan villages<n id="5" /> as they went.<n id="6" />p>

So Saul got up from the ground, but although his eyes were open,<n id="1" /> he could see nothing.<n id="2" /> Leading him by the hand, his companions<n id="3" /> brought him into Damascus.

We<n id="1" /> are witnesses of all the things he did both in Judea<n id="2" /> and in Jerusalem.<n id="3" /> They<n id="4" /> killed him by hanging him on a tree,<n id="5" />

So the disciples, each in accordance with his financial ability,<n id="1" /> decided<n id="2" /> to send relief<n id="3" /> to the brothers living in Judea.

When he saw that this pleased the Jews,<n id="1" /> he proceeded to arrest Peter too. (This took place during the feast of Unleavened Bread.)<n id="2" />

When<n id="1" /> they arrived<n id="2" /> in Salamis,<n id="3" /> they began to proclaim<n id="4" /> the word of God in the Jewish synagogues.<n id="5" /> (Now they also had John<n id="6" /> as their assistant.)<n id="7" />

Moving on from<n id="1" /> Perga,<n id="2" /> they arrived at Pisidian Antioch,<n id="3" /> and on the Sabbath day they went into<n id="4" /> the synagogue<n id="5" /> and sat down.

<t /><p class="bodytext">The same thing happened in Iconium<n id="1" /> when Paul and Barnabas<n id="2" /> went into the Jewish synagogue<n id="3" /> and spoke in such a way that a large group<n id="4" /> of both Jews and Greeks believed.

But after the disciples had surrounded him, he got up and went back<n id="1" /> into the city. On<n id="2" /> the next day he left with Barnabas for Derbe.<n id="3" />p>

They strengthened<n id="1" /> the souls of the disciples and encouraged them to continue<n id="2" /> in the faith, saying, &#8220;We must enter the kingdom<n id="3" /> of God through many persecutions.&#8221;<n id="4" />

So now why are you putting God to the test<n id="1" /> by placing on the neck of the disciples a yoke<n id="2" /> that neither our ancestors<n id="3" /> nor we have been able to bear?

On the Sabbath day we went outside the city gate to the side of the river, where we thought there would be a place of prayer, and we sat down<n id="1" /> and began to speak<n id="2" /> to the women<n id="3" /> who had assembled there.<n id="4" />

At<n id="1" /> that hour of the night he took them<n id="2" /> and washed their wounds;<n id="3" /> then<n id="4" /> he and all his family<n id="5" /> were baptized right away.<n id="6" />

Paul went to the Jews in the synagogue,<n id="1" /> as he customarily did, and on three Sabbath days he addressed<n id="2" /> them from the scriptures,

and<n id="1" /> Jason has welcomed them as guests! They<n id="2" /> are all acting against Caesar&#8217;s<n id="3" /> decrees, saying there is another king named<n id="4" /> Jesus!&#8221;<n id="5" />
