For the <sc>Lordsc> will pass through to strike Egypt, and when he sees<n id="1" /> the blood on the top of the doorframe and the two side posts, then the <sc>Lordsc> will pass over the door, and he will not permit the destroyer<n id="2" /> to enter your houses to strike you.<n id="3" />

<p class="bodytext">When<n id="1" /> the <sc>Lordsc> brings you to the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Hivites, and Jebusites, which he swore to your fathers to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey,<n id="2" /> then you will keep<n id="3" /> this ceremony<n id="4" /> in this month.

The Israelites said to them, &#8220;If only we had died<n id="1" /> by the hand of the <sc>Lordsc> in the land of Egypt, when we sat by<n id="2" /> the pots of meat, when we ate bread to the full,<n id="3" /> for you have brought us out into this desert to kill<n id="4" /> this whole assembly with hunger!&#8221;p>

<p class="bodytext">Moses said, &#8220;You will know this<n id="1" /> when the <sc>Lordsc> gives you<n id="2" /> meat to eat in the evening and bread in the morning to satisfy you, because the <sc>Lordsc> has heard your murmurings that you are murmuring against him. As for us, what are we?<n id="3" /> Your murmurings are not against us,<n id="4" /> but against the <sc>Lordsc>.&#8221;p>

When<n id="1" /> the Israelites saw it, they said to one another,<n id="2" /> &#8220;What is it?&#8221; because they did not know what it was.<n id="3" /> Moses said to them, &#8220;It is the bread<n id="4" /> that the <sc>Lordsc> has given you for food.<n id="5" />p>

So the people contended<n id="1" /> with Moses, and they said, &#8220;Give us water to drink!&#8221;<n id="2" /> Moses said to them, &#8220;Why do you contend<n id="3" /> with me? Why do you test<n id="4" /> the <sc>Lordsc>?&#8221;

Moses chose capable men from all Israel, and he made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;If men fight and hit a pregnant woman and her child is born prematurely,<n id="1" /> but there is no serious injury, he will surely be punished in accordance with what the woman&#8217;s husband demands of him, and he will pay what the court decides.<n id="2" />

You are to cast four gold rings for it and put them on its four feet, with two rings on one side and two rings on the other side.

You are to hang this curtain under the clasps and bring the ark of the testimony in there behind the curtain.<n id="1" /> The curtain will make a division for you between the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place.<n id="2" />

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;You are to put the Urim and the Thummim<n id="1" /> into the breastpiece of decision; and they are to be over Aaron&#8217;s heart when he goes in before the <sc>Lordsc>. Aaron is to bear the decisions<n id="2" /> of the Israelites over his heart before the <sc>Lordsc> continually.p>

and you are to kill the ram and take some of its blood and put it on the tip of the right ear of Aaron, on the tip of the right ear of his sons, on the thumb of their right hand, and on the big toe of their right foot,<n id="1" /> and then splash the blood all around on the altar.

&#8220;When you take a census<n id="1" /> of the Israelites according to their number,<n id="2" /> then each man is to pay a ransom<n id="3" /> for his life to the <sc>Lordsc> when you number them,<n id="4" /> so that there will be no plague among them when you number them.

You are to receive the atonement money<n id="1" /> from the Israelites and give it for the service<n id="2" /> of the tent of meeting. It will be a memorial<n id="3" /> for the Israelites before the <sc>Lordsc>, to make atonement<n id="4" /> for your lives.&#8221;p>

Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel your servants, to whom you swore by yourself and told them, &#8216;I will multiply your descendants<n id="1" /> like the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken about<n id="2" /> I will give to your descendants,<n id="3" /> and they will inherit it forever.&#8217;&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">The <sc>Lordsc> said to Moses, &#8220;Go up<n id="1" /> from here, you and the people whom you brought up out of the land of Egypt, to the land I promised on oath<n id="2" /> to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, &#8216;I will give it to your descendants.&#8217;<n id="3" />

So Bezalel and Oholiab and every skilled person<n id="1" /> in whom the <sc>Lordsc> has put skill<n id="2" /> and ability<n id="3" /> to know how<n id="4" /> to do all the work for the service<n id="5" /> of the sanctuary are to do the work<n id="6" /> according to all that the <sc>Lordsc> has commanded.&#8221;p>
