They melted down the silver in the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s temple<n id="1" /> and handed it over to the supervisors of the construction foremen.&#8221;

He made all who were in Jerusalem and Benjamin agree to it.<n id="1" /> The residents of Jerusalem acted in accordance with the covenant of God, the God of their ancestors.

So all the preparations for the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s service were made that day, as the Passover was observed and the burnt sacrifices were offered on the altar of the <sc>Lordsc>, as prescribed by King Josiah.

So the Israelites who were present observed the Passover at that time, as well as the Feast of Unleavened Bread for seven days.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Jehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned for eleven years in Jerusalem.<n id="1" /> He did evil in the sight of<n id="2" /> the <sc>Lordsc> his God.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Jehoiachin was eighteen<n id="1" /> years old when he became king, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem.<n id="2" /> He did evil in the sight of<n id="3" /> the <sc>Lordsc>.

Solomon consecrated the middle of the courtyard that is in front of the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s temple. He offered burnt sacrifices, grain offerings,<n id="1" /> and the fat from the peace offerings there, because the bronze altar that Solomon had made was too small to hold all these offerings.<n id="2" />

Solomon and the entire assembly went to the worship center<n id="1" /> in Gibeon, for the tent where they met God<n id="2" /> was located there, which Moses the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s servant had made in the wilderness.

<p class="bodytext">Solomon sent a message to King Huram<n id="1" /> of Tyre:<n id="2" /> &#8220;Help me<n id="3" /> as you did my father David, when you sent him cedar logs<n id="4" /> for the construction of his palace.<n id="5" />

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;Now send me a man who is skilled in working with gold, silver, bronze, and iron, as well as purple, crimson, and violet colored fabrics, and who knows how to engrave. He will work with my skilled craftsmen here in Jerusalem<n id="1" /> and Judah, whom my father David provided.

Huram also said, &#8220;Worthy of praise is the <sc>Lordsc> God of Israel, who made the sky and the earth! He has given David a wise son who has discernment and insight and will build a temple for the <sc>Lordsc>, as well as a royal palace for himself.<n id="1" />

<p class="bodytext">He made the most holy place;<n id="1" /> its length was 30 feet,<n id="2" /> corresponding to the width of the temple, and its width 30 feet.<n id="3" /> He plated it with 600 talents<n id="4" /> of fine gold.

He also made the big bronze basin called &#8220;The Sea.&#8221;<n id="1" /> It measured 15 feet<n id="2" /> from rim to rim, was circular in shape, and stood seven and one-half feet<n id="3" /> high. Its circumference was 45 feet.<n id="4" />

He made ten washing basins; he put five on the south side and five on the north side. In them they rinsed the items used for burnt sacrifices; the priests washed in &#8220;The Sea.&#8221;p>

When Solomon had finished constructing the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s temple, he put the holy items that belonged to his father David (the silver, gold, and all the other articles) in the treasuries of God&#8217;s temple.p>

Solomon had made a bronze platform and had placed it in the middle of the enclosure. It was seven and one-half feet<n id="1" /> long, seven and one-half feet<n id="2" /> wide, and four and one-half feet<n id="3" /> high. He stood on it and then got down on his knees in front of the entire assembly of Israel. He spread out his hands toward the sky,

The priests stood in their assigned spots, along with the Levites who had the musical instruments used for praising the <sc>Lordsc>.<n id="1" /> (These were the ones King David made for giving thanks to the <sc>Lordsc> and which were used by David when he offered praise, saying, &#8220;Certainly his loyal love endures.&#8221;)<n id="2" /> Opposite the Levites,<n id="3" /> the priests were blowing the trumpets, while all Israel stood there.

At that time Solomon and all Israel with him celebrated a festival for seven days. This great assembly included people from Lebo Hamath in the north to the Brook of Egypt in the south.<n id="1" />

On the twenty-third day of the seventh month, Solomon<n id="1" /> sent the people home. They left<n id="2" /> happy and contented<n id="3" /> because of the good the <sc>Lordsc> had done for David, Solomon, and his people Israel.p>
