The <sc>Lordsc> listened to the voice of Israel and delivered up the Canaanites,<n id="1" /> and they utterly destroyed them and their cities. So the name of the place was called<n id="2" /> Hormah.p>

<p class="bodytext">So Moses gave the tribute, which was the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s raised offering, to Eleazar the priest, as the <sc>Lordsc> commanded Moses.p>

So the <sc>Lordsc> our God did indeed give over to us King Og of Bashan and his whole army and we struck them down until not a single survivor was left.<n id="1" />

Then he brought us to this place and gave us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey.

<p class="poetry">The <sc>Lordsc> shatters<n id="1" /> his adversaries;<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">he thunders against them from<n id="3" /> the heavens.p> <p class="poetry">The <sc>Lordsc> executes judgment to the ends of the earth.p> <p class="poetry">He will strengthen<n id="4" /> his kingp> <p class="poetry">and exalt the power<n id="5" /> of his anointed one.&#8221;<n id="6" />p>

<p class="bodytext">Then Samuel brought<n id="1" /> Saul and his servant into the room and gave them a place at the head of those who had been invited. There were about thirty people present.

<p class="bodytext">So Samuel called to the <sc>Lordsc>, and the <sc>Lordsc> made it thunder and rain that day. All the people were very afraid of both the <sc>Lordsc> and Samuel.

The king appointed Benaiah son of Jehoiada to take his place at the head of<n id="1" /> the army, and the king appointed Zadok the priest to take Abiathar&#8217;s place.<n id="2" />p>

<p class="bodytext">God gave Solomon wisdom and very great discernment; the breadth of his understanding<n id="1" /> was as infinite as the sand on the seashore.

The king made silver as plentiful<n id="1" /> in Jerusalem as stones; cedar was<n id="2" /> as plentiful as sycamore fig trees are in the lowlands.<n id="3" />
