You will rule over the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s people and you will deliver them from the power of the enemies who surround them. This will be your sign that the <sc>Lordsc> has chosen<n id="4" /> you as leader over his inheritance.<n id="5" />

So Jesse took a donkey loaded with bread, a container of wine, and a young goat<n id="1" /> and sent them to Saul with<n id="2" /> his son David.

<p class="bodytext">So when David returned from striking down the Philistine, Abner took him and brought him before Saul. He still had the head of the Philistine in his hand.

So Saul took three thousand select men from all Israel and went to find<n id="1" /> David and his men in the region of<n id="2" /> the rocks of the mountain goats.<n id="3" />
