Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their grandeur. ¹ 

People ¹  do not light a lamp and put it under a basket ²  but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house.

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have not come to abolish these things but to fulfill them. ¹ 

But I say to you, do not resist the evildoer. ¹  But whoever strikes you on the ²  right cheek, turn the other to him as well.

Take my yoke ¹  on you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

And if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons ¹  cast them ²  out? For this reason they will be your judges.

As they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, ¹  “Do not tell anyone about the vision until the Son of Man is raised from the dead.”

Jesus answered, ¹  “You ²  unbelieving ³  and perverse generation! How much longer ⁴  must I be with you? How much longer must I endure ⁵  you? ⁶  Bring him here to me.”

Then Peter came to him and said, “Lord, how many times must I forgive my brother ¹  who sins against me? As many as seven times?”

Jesus ¹  said to them, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because of your hard hearts, ²  but from the beginning it was not this way.

When ¹  it was evening ²  the owner of the vineyard said to his manager, ‘Call the workers and give the pay ³  starting with the last hired until the first.’

“Teacher, Moses said, ‘If a man dies without having children, his brother must marry the widow and father children ¹  for his brother.’ ² 

He went away a second time and prayed, ¹  “My Father, if this cup ²  cannot be taken away unless I drink it, your will must be done.”

teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember, ¹  I am with you ²  always, to the end of the age.” ³ 

He ¹  sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and look carefully for the child. When you find him, inform me so that I can go and worship him as well.”

If your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away! It is better to lose one of your members than to have your whole body go into hell.

How ¹  else can someone enter a strong man’s ²  house and steal his property, unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can thoroughly plunder the house. ³ 

“See that you do not disdain one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.

What do you think? If someone ¹  owns a hundred ²  sheep and one of them goes astray, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go look for the one that went astray? ³ 

telling them, “Go to the village ahead of you. ¹  Right away you will find a donkey tied there, and a colt with her. Untie them and bring them to me.
