“You must no longer ¹  give straw to the people for making bricks ²  as before. ³  Let them go ⁴  and collect straw for themselves.

When you enter the land that the Lord will give to you, just as he said, you must observe ¹  this ceremony.

For seven days ¹  you must eat ²  bread made without yeast, and on the seventh day there is to be ³  a festival to the Lord.

If a ransom is set for him, ¹  then he must pay the redemption for his life according to whatever amount was set for him.

“If you encounter ¹  your enemy’s ox or donkey wandering off, you must by all means return ²  it to him.

You are to overlay ¹  it with pure gold – both inside and outside you must overlay it, ²  and you are to make a surrounding border ³  of gold over it.

Pharaoh said, “I will release you ¹  so that you may sacrifice ²  to the Lord your God in the desert. Only you must not go very far. ³  Do ⁴  pray for me.”

God said to Moses, “I am that I am.” ¹  And he said, “You must say this ²  to the Israelites, ‘I am has sent me to you.’”

You are to speak ¹  everything I command you, ²  and your brother Aaron is to tell Pharaoh that he must release ³  the Israelites from his land.

“If men fight, and one strikes his neighbor with a stone or with his fist and he does not die, but must remain in bed, ¹ 

“You must not oppress ¹  a foreigner, since you know the life ²  of a foreigner, for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt.

They must not live in your land, lest they make you sin against me, for if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare ¹  to you.”

then his master must bring him to the judges, ¹  and he will bring him to the door or the doorposts, and his master will pierce his ear with an awl, and he shall serve him forever. ² 

Six days ¹  work may be done, ²  but on the seventh day is a Sabbath of complete rest, ³  holy to the Lord; anyone who does work on the Sabbath day must surely be put to death.

“You must keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread. For seven days ¹  you must eat bread made without yeast, as I commanded you; do this ²  at the appointed time of the month Abib, for in the month Abib you came out of Egypt.

For seven days ¹  yeast must not be found in your houses, for whoever eats what is made with yeast – that person ²  will be cut off from the community of Israel, whether a foreigner ³  or one born in the land.

Or if it is known that the ox had the habit of goring, and its owner did not take the necessary precautions, he must surely pay ¹  ox for ox, and the dead animal will become his. ² 

¹ (21:37) ²  “If a man steals an ox or a sheep and kills it or sells it, he must pay back ³  five head of cattle for the ox, and four sheep for the one sheep. ⁴ 

“If a fire breaks out and spreads ¹  to thorn bushes, ²  so that stacked grain or standing grain or the whole field is consumed, the one who started ³  the fire must surely make restitution.

If any of the meat from the consecration offerings ¹  or any of the bread is left over ²  until morning, then you are to burn up ³  what is left over. It must not be eaten, ⁴  because it is holy.
