because the person who sows to his own flesh<n id="1" /> will reap corruption<n id="2" /> from the flesh,<n id="3" /> but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit.

that you were at that time without the Messiah,<n id="1" /> alienated from the citizenship of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise,<n id="2" /> having no hope and without God in the world.

For you can be confident of this one thing:<n id="1" /> that no person who is immoral, impure, or greedy (such a person is an idolater) has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.p>

<p class="bodytext">Masters,<n id="1" /> treat your slaves<n id="2" /> the same way,<n id="3" /> giving up the use of threats,<n id="4" /> because you know that both you and they have the same master in heaven,<n id="5" /> and there is no favoritism with him.p>

For our struggle<n id="1" /> is not against flesh and blood,<n id="2" /> but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world rulers of this darkness,<n id="3" /> against the spiritual forces<n id="4" /> of evil in the heavens.<n id="5" />

<p class="bodytext">And as you Philippians know, at the beginning of my gospel ministry, when I left Macedonia, no church shared with me in this matter of giving and receiving except you alone.

<p class="poetry">for all things in heaven and on earth were created by him &#8211; all things, whether visible or invisible, whether thrones or dominions,<n id="1" /> whether principalities or powers &#8211; all things were created through him and for him.p>

in that<n id="1" /> our gospel did not come to you merely in words,<n id="2" /> but in power and in the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction (surely you recall the character we displayed when we came among you to help you).<n id="3" />p>

For you became imitators, brothers and sisters,<n id="1" /> of God&#8217;s churches in Christ Jesus that are in Judea, because you too suffered the same things from your own countrymen as they in fact did from the Jews,

<p class="bodytext">But now Timothy has come<n id="1" /> to us from you and given us the good news of your faith and love and that you always think of us with affection<n id="2" /> and long to see us just as we also long to see you!<n id="3" />

For we tell you this by the word of the Lord,<n id="1" /> that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will surely not go ahead of those who have fallen asleep.

when he comes to be glorified among his saints and admired<n id="1" /> on that day among all who have believed &#8211; and you did in fact believe our testimony.<n id="2" />

not to be easily<n id="1" /> shaken from your composure or disturbed by any kind of spirit or message or letter allegedly from us,<n id="2" /> to the effect that the day of the Lord is already here.

Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not arrive until the rebellion comes<n id="1" /> and the man of lawlessness<n id="2" /> is revealed, the son of destruction.<n id="3" />

He<n id="1" /> opposes <i>and exalts himself above everyi> so-called <i>godi> or object of worship, and as a result <i>he takes his seati><n id="2" /> in God&#8217;s temple, displaying himself as God.<n id="3" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">But we ought to thank God always for you, brothers and sisters<n id="1" /> loved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning<n id="2" /> for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.
