<p class="bodytext">&#8220;But I have a testimony greater than that from John. For the deeds<n id="1" /> that the Father has assigned me to complete &#8211; the deeds<n id="2" /> I am now doing &#8211; testify about me that the Father has sent me.

Jesus answered,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Even if I testify about myself, my testimony is true, because I know where I came from and where I am going. But you people<n id="2" /> do not know where I came from or where I am going.<n id="3" />

<p class="bodytext">Then some of the Pharisees began to say,<n id="1" /> &#8220;This man is not from God, because he does not observe<n id="2" /> the Sabbath.&#8221;<n id="3" /> But others said, &#8220;How can a man who is a sinner perform<n id="4" /> such miraculous signs?&#8221; Thus there was a division<n id="5" /> among them.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Just before the Passover feast, Jesus knew that his time<n id="1" /> had come to depart<n id="2" /> from this world to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he now loved them to the very end.<n id="3" />

Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me?<n id="1" /> The words that I say to you, I do not speak on my own initiative,<n id="2" /> but the Father residing in me performs<n id="3" /> his miraculous deeds.<n id="4" />

Then Pilate said,<n id="1" /> &#8220;So you are a king!&#8221; Jesus replied, &#8220;You say that I am a king. For this reason I was born, and for this reason I came into the world &#8211; to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to<n id="2" /> my voice.&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">Jesus said to her, &#8220;Woman, why are you weeping? Who are you looking for?&#8221; Because she<n id="1" /> thought he was the gardener, she said to him, &#8220;Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will take him.&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">Then the disciple whom<n id="1" /> Jesus loved<n id="2" /> said to Peter, &#8220;It is the Lord!&#8221; So Simon Peter, when he heard that it was the Lord, tucked in his outer garment (for he had nothing on underneath it),<n id="3" /> and plunged<n id="4" /> into the sea.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then when they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, &#8220;Simon, son of John,<n id="1" /> do you love me more than these do?&#8221;<n id="2" /> He replied,<n id="3" /> &#8220;Yes, Lord, you know I love you.&#8221;<n id="4" /> Jesus<n id="5" /> told him, &#8220;Feed my lambs.&#8221;

let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ<n id="1" /> the Nazarene whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, this man stands before you healthy.

After there had been much debate,<n id="1" /> Peter stood up and said to them, &#8220;Brothers, you know that some time ago<n id="2" /> God chose<n id="3" /> me to preach to the Gentiles so they would hear the message<n id="4" /> of the gospel<n id="5" /> and believe.<n id="6" />

Also some of the Epicurean<n id="1" /> and Stoic<n id="2" /> philosophers were conversing<n id="3" /> with him, and some were asking,<n id="4" /> &#8220;What does this foolish babbler<n id="5" /> want to say?&#8221; Others said, &#8220;He seems to be a proclaimer of foreign gods.&#8221;<n id="6" /> (They said this because he was proclaiming the good news about Jesus and the resurrection.)<n id="7" />

And so<n id="1" /> we too constantly thank God that when you received God&#8217;s message that you heard from us,<n id="2" /> you accepted it not as a human message,<n id="3" /> but as it truly is, God&#8217;s message, which is at work among you who believe.

<p class="bodytext">If anyone says<n id="1" /> &#8220;I love God&#8221; and yet<n id="2" /> hates his fellow Christian,<n id="3" /> he is a liar, because the one who does not love his fellow Christian<n id="4" /> whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.<n id="5" />

Jesus Christ is the one who came by water and blood &#8211; not by the water only, but by the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the one who testifies, because<n id="1" /> the Spirit is the truth.

(The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has testified concerning his Son.)<n id="1" />

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us insight to know<n id="1" /> him who is true, and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This one<n id="2" /> is the true God and eternal life.

&#8216;I know your deeds. (Look! I have put<n id="1" /> in front of you an open door that no one can shut.)<n id="2" /> I know<n id="3" /> that you have little strength,<n id="4" /> but<n id="5" /> you have obeyed<n id="6" /> my word and have not denied my name.
