But Ananias replied, ¹  “Lord, I have heard from many people ²  about this man, how much harm he has done to your saints in Jerusalem,

But we would like to hear from you what you think, for regarding this sect we know ¹  that people ²  everywhere speak against ³  it.”

But there are some Jews from the province of Asia ¹  who should be here before you and bring charges, ²  if they have anything against me.

Every day ¹  they continued to gather together by common consent in the temple courts, ²  breaking bread from ³  house to house, sharing their food with glad ⁴  and humble hearts, ⁵ 

But to keep this matter from spreading any further among the people, let us warn them to speak no more ¹  to anyone in this name.”

When the angel who had spoken to him departed, Cornelius ¹  called two of his personal servants ²  and a devout soldier from among those who served him, ³ 

When you examine ¹  him yourself, you will be able to learn from him ²  about all these things we are accusing him of doing.” ³ 

and their bones ¹  were later moved to Shechem and placed in the tomb that Abraham had bought for a certain sum of money ²  from the sons of Hamor in Shechem.

Then an angel of the Lord ¹  said to Philip, ²  “Get up and go south ³  on the road that goes down from Jerusalem ⁴  to Gaza.” (This is a desert ⁵  road.) ⁶ 

So Peter ¹  invited them in and entertained them as guests. On the next day he got up and set out ²  with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa ³  accompanied him.

He ordered the centurion ¹  to guard Paul, ²  but to let him have some freedom, ³  and not to prevent any of his friends ⁴  from meeting his needs. ⁵ 

yet he did not leave himself without a witness by doing good, ¹  by giving you rain from heaven ²  and fruitful seasons, satisfying you ³  with food and your hearts with joy.” ⁴ 

When the seven days were almost over, ¹  the Jews from the province of Asia ²  who had seen him in the temple area ³  stirred up the whole crowd ⁴  and seized ⁵  him,

When they opposed him ¹  and reviled him, ²  he protested by shaking out his clothes ³  and said to them, “Your blood ⁴  be on your own heads! I am guiltless! ⁵  From now on I will go to the Gentiles!”

This one ¹  heaven must ²  receive until the time all things are restored, ³  which God declared ⁴  from times long ago ⁵  through his holy prophets.

For there was no one needy ¹  among them, because those who were owners of land or houses were selling ²  them ³  and bringing the proceeds from the sales

And every day both in the temple courts ¹  and from house to house, they did not stop teaching and proclaiming the good news ²  that Jesus was the Christ. ³ 

After ¹  he had said this, while they were watching, he was lifted up and a cloud hid him from their sight.

But carefully select from among you, brothers, ¹  seven ²  men who are well-attested, ³  full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may put in charge ⁴  of this necessary task. ⁵ 

We set sail ¹  from there, and on the following day we arrived off Chios. ²  The next day we approached ³  Samos, ⁴  and the day after that we arrived at Miletus. ⁵
