I tell you the truth,<n id="1" /> there are some standing here who will not<n id="2" /> experience<n id="3" /> death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.&#8221;<n id="4" />p>

And whoever has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much<n id="1" /> and will inherit eternal life.

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;Listen to another parable: There was a landowner<n id="1" /> who planted a vineyard.<n id="2" /> He put a fence around it, dug a pit for its winepress, and built a watchtower. Then<n id="3" /> he leased it to tenant farmers<n id="4" /> and went on a journey.

But<n id="1" /> these are the ones sown on good soil: They hear the word and receive it and bear fruit, one thirty times as much, one sixty, and one a hundred.&#8221;p>

And he said to them, &#8220;I tell you the truth,<n id="1" /> there are some standing here who will not<n id="2" /> experience<n id="3" /> death before they see the kingdom of God come with power.&#8221;<n id="4" />p>

And now,<n id="1" /> because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their time,<n id="2" /> you will be silent, unable to speak,<n id="3" /> until the day these things take place.&#8221;p>

So<n id="1" /> Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth<n id="2" /> in Galilee to Judea, to the city<n id="3" /> of David called Bethlehem,<n id="4" /> because he was of the house<n id="5" /> and family line<n id="6" /> of David.

Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw this,<n id="1" /> he said to himself, &#8220;If this man were a prophet,<n id="2" /> he would know who and what kind of woman<n id="3" /> this is who is touching him, that she is a sinner.&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">Meanwhile,<n id="1" /> when many thousands of the crowd had gathered so that they were trampling on one another, Jesus<n id="2" /> began to speak first to his disciples, &#8220;Be on your guard against<n id="3" /> the yeast of the Pharisees,<n id="4" /> which is hypocrisy.<n id="5" />

I tell you, in the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner<n id="1" /> who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people<n id="2" /> who have no need to repent.<n id="3" />p>

There are many other things that Jesus did. If every one of them were written down,<n id="1" /> I suppose the whole world<n id="2" /> would not have room for the books that would be written.<n id="3" />p>

not by all the people, but by us, the witnesses God had already chosen,<n id="1" /> who ate and drank<n id="2" /> with him after he rose from the dead.

One of them, named Agabus, got up<n id="1" /> and predicted<n id="2" /> by the Spirit that a severe<n id="3" /> famine<n id="4" /> was about to come over the whole inhabited world.<n id="5" /> (This<n id="6" /> took place during the reign of Claudius.)<n id="7" />

When the meeting of the synagogue<n id="1" /> had broken up,<n id="2" /> many of the Jews and God-fearing proselytes<n id="3" /> followed Paul and Barnabas, who were speaking with them and were persuading<n id="4" /> them<n id="5" /> to continue<n id="6" /> in the grace of God.p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> as we were going to the place of prayer, a slave girl met us who had a spirit that enabled her to foretell the future by supernatural means.<n id="2" /> She<n id="3" /> brought her owners<n id="4" /> a great profit by fortune-telling.<n id="5" />

She followed behind Paul and us and kept crying out,<n id="1" /> &#8220;These men are servants<n id="2" /> of the Most High God, who are proclaiming to you the way<n id="3" /> of salvation.&#8221;<n id="4" />

These Jews<n id="1" /> were more open-minded<n id="2" /> than those in Thessalonica,<n id="3" /> for they eagerly<n id="4" /> received<n id="5" /> the message, examining<n id="6" /> the scriptures carefully every day<n id="7" /> to see if these things were so.

They<n id="1" /> exchanged the truth of God for a lie<n id="2" /> and worshiped and served the creation<n id="3" /> rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.p>

Although they fully know<n id="1" /> God&#8217;s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die,<n id="2" /> they not only do them but also approve of those who practice them.<n id="3" />p>

They<n id="1" /> show that the work of the law is written<n id="2" /> in their hearts, as their conscience bears witness and their conflicting thoughts accuse or else defend<n id="3" /> them,<n id="4" />
