For even if I made you sad<n id="1" /> by my letter,<n id="2" /> I do not regret having written it<n id="3" /> (even though I did regret it,<n id="4" /> for<n id="5" /> I see that my letter made you sad,<n id="6" /> though only for a short time).

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now I, Paul, appeal to you<n id="1" /> personally<n id="2" /> by the meekness and gentleness<n id="3" /> of Christ (I who am meek<n id="4" /> when present among<n id="5" /> you, but am full of courage<n id="6" /> toward you when away!) &#8211;

Look, for the third time I am ready to come to you, and I will not be a burden to you, because I do not want your possessions, but you. For children should not have<n id="1" /> to save up for their parents, but parents for their children.

in that<n id="1" /> our gospel did not come to you merely in words,<n id="2" /> but in power and in the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction (surely you recall the character we displayed when we came among you to help you).<n id="3" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Finally then, brothers and sisters,<n id="1" /> we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received instruction from us about how<n id="2" /> you must live and please God (as you are in fact living)<n id="3" /> that you do so more and more.

But I say to you, love your enemy and<n id="1" /> pray for those who persecute you,

Then I will declare to them, &#8216;I never knew you. Go away from me, you lawbreakers!&#8217;<n id="1" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;Whoever receives you receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me.<n id="1" />

But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God<n id="1" /> has already overtaken<n id="2" /> you.

If<n id="1" /> this matter is heard before the governor,<n id="2" /> we will satisfy him<n id="3" /> and keep you out of trouble.&#8221;<n id="4" />

Jesus said to them, &#8220;Follow me, and I will turn you into fishers of people.&#8221;<n id="1" />

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;But I say to you who are listening: Love your enemies,<n id="1" /> do good to those who hate you,

Whenever<n id="1" /> you enter a town<n id="2" /> and the people<n id="3" /> welcome you, eat what is set before you.

Heal<n id="1" /> the sick in that town<n id="2" /> and say to them, &#8216;The kingdom of God<n id="3" /> has come upon<n id="4" /> you!&#8217;

But whenever<n id="1" /> you enter a town<n id="2" /> and the people<n id="3" /> do not welcome<n id="4" /> you, go into its streets<n id="5" /> and say,

But if I cast out demons by the finger<n id="1" /> of God, then the kingdom of God<n id="2" /> has already overtaken<n id="3" /> you.

for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that moment<n id="1" /> what you must say.&#8221;<n id="2" />p>

But Jesus<n id="1" /> said to him, &#8220;Man,<n id="2" /> who made me a judge or arbitrator between you two?&#8221;<n id="3" />

If anyone asks you, &#8216;Why are you untying it?&#8217; just say, &#8216;The Lord needs<n id="1" /> it.&#8217;&#8221;
